Dune 2 SteelBooks Have Started Reselling

Well, it’s another month, and another movie for everyone to obsess over. This time it’s Dune: Part Two. While people are excitedly discussing the potential love triangle or whether Paul is actually a pretty bad guy, new merch is being spun up. Resellers have been feasting on this movie over the last few weeks, and it looks like we’re not quite done yet. Let’s dive in.

Dune Part Two SteelBook

Yep, it’s still Dune season. If you’ve been keeping up with our blog, you’ll have seen our articles on the Dune 2 popcorn buckets, Dune 2 IMAX film strips, and even Dune Topps Trading Card sets.

The story here is that people really like Dune. While for years the franchise was seen as unadaptable, Villeneuve clearly wasn’t listening. We don’t know for sure if a a third film has been greenlit, but all signs point towards yes.

And when something is in the spotlight like this, resellers are paying attention As we said, everything Dune related is reselling, and we’ve got one more product on our radar today.

Dune 2 SteelBooks have been appearing through online retailers over the last few days. These are 4K releases of the film encased in a SteelBook case.

Collectors like SteelBooks. They’re a good way to display their favorite movies on the shelf, and most new movies will get a SteelBook release. Once you’ve picked up a few, well, it makes sense to keep buying them doesn’t it?

Or at least it does to collectors. And where there’s collectors, there’s people willing to pay out the nose for the things they want.

Dune 2 SteelBooks Resell

You might not think it, but SteelBooks can be a pretty profitable flip. Back when Oppenheimer was blowing up theaters, its SteelBooks were reselling for over $100 at one point. Of course, those were a Best Buy exclusive and struggled to stay in stock.

Dune: Part Two’s SteelBooks are a little less rare. They’re not exclusive to any retailer, and can be purchased in store or online at Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon; pretty much anywhere that sells movies.

Or at least you could if they weren’t all sold out. Once these went live, collectors and resellers quickly snatched up all available stock. Now Dune 2 SteelBooks are reselling for about $60.

These retail for about $30, so not a bad flip at all. We expect these to keep restocking over the next few weeks, so keep an eye on the listings and buy them if you can.
