Dune 2 Popcorn Buckets Are Already Reselling

Only a few weeks remain until Dune 2 releases, and people are getting pumped. All kinds of merchandise are being spun up, from LEGOs to action figures, but we’re looking at something a bit more esoteric today. Popcorn buckets for Dune 2 have begun to stock at some AMC locations, and these are very popular with both fans of the movies and resellers alike. Let’s take a look.

If you’ve been following our blog over the last few months, you’re probably familiar with collectable popcorn buckets.

The Barbie movie was probably the best example of this trend, and our article on these dives into why people are willing to pay so much for these. While we never got the Oppenheimer popcorn bucket, the fake versions of it were good for a laugh at least.

Now Dune 2 is the new movie on everyone’s minds. Originally slated for a 2023 rollout, Dune 2 was delayed twice due to SAG-AFTRA strikes, and will hit screens on March 1. Just a few weeks ago, we got our first look at the promotional popcorn buckets for Dune 2.

Hm. It seems like this bucket is ribbed for your pleasure. It’s a sandworm, or Shai-Hulud for the nerds. Apparently you’ll need to reach your hand into its mouth to retrieve your popcorn, and have your wrists teased by the rubbery teeth on the way out.

The evocative designs for these popcorn buckets have earned them the nickname of “Duneussy”, and we will allow you to figure that one out for yourself.

They’re also proving quite popular. Whether for research purposes or simple collecting, fans of the film are very interested in them. Officially, they aren’t supposed to release until the film does, but some people are reporting certain AMC locations are already stocking them.

For $30, you can take one these home and do whatever you like to it. We don’t need to know. If you want our advice though, we’d recommend listing yours on eBay.

Dune 2 Popcorn Buckets Resell

Just like other popcorn buckets for popular movies, Dune 2’s Sandworm self-love sleeves snack receptacles are proving quite popular. To get one, you’ll need to call around to local AMC theaters or ask employees if they’re stocking them already.

Right now, Dune 2 popcorn buckets are reselling for $70 to $100 at a time. If you manage to get an employee on your side, you could pick up several of these buckets at the same time and make multiple sales.

And that could net you easy profits in just a few hours. There’s still plenty of time left before the movie releases, and we’re expecting these popcorn buckets to remain popular at least until then. Jump on this flip while you can.
