To celebrate fifteen years of blood, guts, and easter eggs, Treyarch has cooked up a slick art book centered around Black Ops Zombies. From detailed layouts of maps like Kino der Toten and Mob of the Dead to early looks at iconic Wonder Weapons, it’s a desirable get for any fan of the series. The official Call of Duty store has already sold out of their copies, but it’s not to late to snag a preorder on Amazon. Let’s take a closer look.

Black Ops Zombies Artbook Details

Call of Duty Black Ops Zombies: The Art of Treyarch is a 335 page hardcover written by James Asmus, covering the mode’s history from its 2008 origins as a World at War Easter egg through more than 40 maps. Expect dedicated sections on individual maps alongside concept art for weapons and characters, plus interviews with the Treyarch development team. It’s not marked as a limited or numbered edition, so this is about content and collectibility rather than scarcity for its own sake.

The book ships August 11 and comes with a sticker and a code for an exclusive Zombies calling card, tied to Black Ops 7 and Warzone. Activision requires the code to be redeemed by December 31, 2028, so there’s no rush to cash it in the moment the book lands.

Amazon’s listing still has copies available for preorder at the full $50 retail price, same as Treyarch’s own shop before it sold out. Nothing exotic required here, just check out like a normal purchase.

Will These Books Resell?

We’re not sitting on comps for this one yet since the book hasn’t shipped, so don’t expect a clean flip on the physical copy alone. The more interesting angle is the bundled cosmetic code. In 2024, we tracked a unique opportunity where resellers picked up digital codes for a unique in-game skin. At their peak, these codes were flipping for up to $300.

It could be that the codes included with these books end up being the real draw. If this drop goes unnoticed and Call of Duty influencers begin picking up the codes as a flex to show off to their audience, we might see a real market emerge for resellers.

As for the books themselves, holding onto them for several months or into the holidays is probably your best bet to secure maximum profit. We don’t expect to see these resell for a major premium shortly after launch.

Amazon’s standard 30 day return window keeps your downside limited if the book doesn’t move. That said, this isn’t flying off shelves in a way that suggests fast, guaranteed resale, and there’s no confirmed secondary market data for either the book or its code yet. You’ll need to commit to trying to flip this fast, within your return window, or take the risk of holding for a long term sale.
