For the gamer that has everything, allow us to present the Razer Boomslang 20th Anniversary gaming mouse. This is a retro design packed with the latest tech, and it costs more than an entire gaming rig. The price is already getting pushback online and has some resellers reevaluating their plans for their drop. Let’s go over what’s been announced.

Razer Boomslang Price and Release Date

The Boomslang was the first purpose-built gaming mouse, and was more or less responsible for Razer’s rise to a household name and the entire gaming peripheral industry. 2025 marked the company’s 20th anniversary, and they elected to reproduce the iconic mouse.

The anniversary edition Boomslang combines the classic design with modern internals, creating exactly the kind of collectible that gaming enthusiasts and resellers both go crazy for. Exclusivity is a selling point here, with the entire production run serialized and strictly limited to 1,337 units.

We covered this mouse after its reveal and predicted a price point of $150 to $250 based on comparable designs. Razer has blown those estimates out of the water with a frankly ridiculous MSRP of $1,337.

What does that money actually get you? Aside from the mouse and charging dock, buyers will also receive a LED-lit “Collector’s Case,” allowing you to display each individual part of the mouse with a matching label.

So this release seems geared towards collectors intent on hanging the mouse on the wall rather than popping heads with it.

If you’re interested, the Razer Boomslang 20th Anniversary Edition drops on February 10 at 8 AM PT. Razer has made it very clear that this is a limited release that will not restock, so this will be your only chance to buy one at retail.

We don’t know exactly how this drop will go. Razer has not confirmed if this will be a first-come, first-serve system or some sort of lottery. Here are a few potential options:

Queue System: You get in a virtual waiting room, then access the product page when it’s your turn. Less frantic than a direct sale, but you’re still racing against 1,337 units globally.

Raffle via EQL or Similar: You enter during a window, winners get purchase rights. This levels the playing field but also means luck matters more than speed.

Direct Sale: First-come, first-served through Razer’s website. This usually means you’ll need to be ready right when the page goes live, and checkout speed is everything.

Loyalty System: It’s possible but pretty unlikely that Razer will restrict purchases to customers with a verified account that’s already made purchases. If you’ve already bought a Razer product, use that account for the drop.

Razer has opened email notifications for the Boomslang Anniversary edition on their website. We strongly recommend signing up for those so you stay informed.

Will the Boomslang Anniversary Resell?

That’s a trickier question now that we know the MSRP. Previously, we were very optimistic about the odds of this flipping for a profit. With a $1,000+ retail price, the math is a little more complicated.

We’ve seen competitive gaming equipment resell quite a few times in the past. Finalmouse is the obvious example, with their iconic mice and keyboards often flipping for $300 to $400 over retail price. Even mousepads can resell under the right conditions.

Finalmouse Centerpiece Pro Keyboard for Sale

But $1,337 is a lot of money, even for a collector’s piece. Will there be enough Razer fanboys and whales willing to compete over the mice? Maybe, but this is a much riskier flip than we were first anticipating.

Razer offers 14-day returns on most products, but generally excludes high profile releases and custom orders. It’s not clear if they will allow returns for the Boomslang Anniversary mouse, but we’re leaning towards “No.”

Bottom Line

This is a risky toss-up. It’s possible that the production run will be low enough to engender competition among collectors and turn these into a lucrative flip, but it’s also possible the sky-high MSRP will scare off enough customers that these sit in stock.

Here’s our advice: be ready on drop day if you’re considering this, and see if the mouse is clearly marked as final sale. If returns are accepted, that mitigates almost all of the risk and you can be more confident buying one. If not, understand that you’re taking a major gamble on a $1,337 mouse.

That’s a lot of money that could be spent towards other flips. Check out Razer’s Project AVA if you’re in the market for a holographic waifu, or Kim K’s newest trading card collab with GAS if you’re looking for something a little more tactile.
