Previous GAS autographed cards from stars like Billie Eilish and Jennie from BlackPink have resold for over $1,000 on eBay
If you’re feeling lucky but the casino is too far away, we’ve got a wheel you can spin. Kim Kardashian has teamed with GAS and Complex for a line of collectible trading cards. These include rare parallels and even autographed variants. GAS trading cards don’t hold their value very well, but celebrity autographs certainly do. Let’s take a look.
GAS trading cards have become a pretty established collectible brand at this point, partnering with Complex to create celebrity card releases. The Kim K drop features multiple parallel versions in the standard release plus the ultra-limited Cracked Ice Foil variant that’s capped at 500 copies worldwide.
Cards are available now directly from Complex’s shop. Standard variants at $25 and Cracked Ice Foil at $50. No purchase limits mentioned, but the Cracked Ice variants will likely sell out fast given the 500-unit cap.
With Cracked Ice, you’ve got less than a 2% chance of pulling an autographed card. That’s 9 signed cards spread across 500 units. For the standard release, Complex hasn’t disclosed the total production numbers, so you’re buying completely blind on your odds of hitting an auto.
Unsigned GAS parallels perform pretty weakly on the secondary market. Most non-autographed variants sit on eBay with minimal movement and prices hanging below retail, even for rarer parallels. The entire value proposition here is gambling on landing a signature.
When autographs do hit, though, they hit hard. Billie Eilish and BlackPink’s Jennie autographed GAS cards have sold for over $1,000 on eBay with verified sold listings confirming demand. Kim Kardashian has massive name recognition that could drive similar or higher prices for her signed cards.
This is straight gambling with trading card odds. You’re paying $50 for a less than 2% chance at a card worth potentially $1,000+, or $25 for completely unknown odds on the standard release. Most buyers will end up with unsigned parallels worth less than they paid.
Obviously, opened trading card products can’t be returned. If you don’t pull an auto, you’re likely taking a loss trying to flip unsigned versions that have weak secondary market demand.
Only worth it if you’re comfortable treating this as a lottery ticket with money you can afford to lose. Or you’re a massive Kim K fan that would be proud to have one of these cards on your shelf.
