Retails for around $22 at Costco with standard returns accepted
Previous packs flipped for up to $75 on eBay with individual bottles hitting $10 plus
Nationwide rollout happening now after Northeast-only launch sold out in under a week
Forget Sugar Bombs, we’ve got an even easier way blow up your diet this December. Costco just restocked the Jones Soda Fallout Vault-Tec Supply Pack nationwide after the first run sold out in days. The 12-packs are hitting stores now, and this is a solid low-risk flip ahead of Fallout Season 2 dropping December 17.
When Jones dropped these exclusively at Northeast Costco locations in late October, they sold out within days. The 12-packs include four bottles each of three flavors: Sunset Sarsaparilla, Nuka-Cola Quantum, and Nuka-Cola Grape, plus a Vault-Tec magnetic bottle opener and collectible caps. One in 12 Sunset Sarsaparilla caps is a Blue Star Cap for a themed sweepstakes.
The initial sellout wasn’t a fluke. Jones Soda set single-day, single-week, and single-month online sales records with the 4-pack Sunset Sarsaparilla bundles that dropped around the same time. The company actually had to work around the clock with Costco to expand distribution nationally after the overwhelming response.
Fallout Season 2 premieres December 17 with episodes dropping weekly through February 4. The first season pulled 100 million viewers, making it Prime Video’s second-biggest show ever. That’s a massive fanbase, and gaming collectibles typically see price bumps around major franchise moments.
Jones historically underproduces their Fallout collabs. The 2015 Target exclusive Nuka-Cola Quantum was basically impossible to find, and those bottles now sell for $15 to $30 each. This nationwide Costco drop is already bigger production-wise, but demand could still outpace supply if fans rush to grab them before Season 2.
Previous packs from the Northeast drop are flipping for $50 to $75 on eBay. Individual bottles are moving for $10 or more depending on flavor, with Nuka-Cola Quantum typically commanding the highest prices since it was originally a Target exclusive back in 2015.
The secondary market isn’t crazy inflated yet, but it’s showing consistent demand at roughly 2X to 3X retail. That’s a decent margin for minimal effort, and can become pretty lucrative when buying in bulk.
At $22 retail, you can grab multiple packs without huge capital risk. Buy five packs for $110, flip them for $60 each after eBay’s 13% fees, and you’re looking at around $150 profit before shipping costs.
Shipping is the pain point since these are glass bottles. You need proper packaging to avoid broken bottles killing your margins. Factor roughly $12 to $15 for safe shipping per pack, which still leaves you with decent profit if you’re moving multiple units.
Individual bottle sales work too if you want to maximize profit per unit. Break down the packs and sell bottles at $10 to $15 each. The math gets tighter after fees and shipping, but collectors looking for specific flavors will pay the premium.
The catch is that this is a nationwide restock, not a limited Northeast drop. More availability means less urgency for buyers, which could keep resale prices from spiking. If every Costco is stocked through the holidays, there’s less FOMO driving secondary market sales.
Watch for sellout indicators. If these move quickly again, jump on them. If they’re sitting at your local Costco two weeks from now, the flip window might be closing.
This is a low-risk flip with proven demand and built-in protection via Costco’s return policy. The margins aren’t massive, but for a $22 investment per unit with minimal effort required, it’s worth grabbing a few if your local Costco has them.
Buy in bulk if you can handle the shipping logistics. Individual bottles flip too, but the pack-to-pack resale is simpler. Watch how fast they move at your location to gauge whether you should load up or wait and see.
Just don’t sleep on this if Season 2 hype starts building. Once these actually sell out nationwide, prices will climb fast. Right now you’re getting in early on a restock before most resellers even know it happened.
