American Girl Wednesday Addams Dolls Resell for Over $400

Another day, another doll. While many resellers prefer to stick to what they’re familiar with: trading cards, shoes, electronics; the smart ones know that there’s a lot of money in the unconventional.

Collectable dolls are a very profitable niche that any reseller should have on their radar. From the latest Bratz collabs to new releases from Barbie or Monster High, dolls = dollars.

And while we don’t cover American Girl all that frequently, today’s topic shows that the brand is definitely worth your attention. On July 28, American Girl dropped their Wednesday Addams Collector Dolls exclusively through their webstore.

These are based on Wednesday’s appearance in Netflix’s hit series. The second season is set for release in just a few days, making it the perfect time to drop these dolls.

Along with her signature black pigtails and dress, these Wednesday doll also included a bonus Thing figurine and two plastic bags containing faux piranhas, as well as matching black shoes and tights.

American Girl sold their Wednesday Addams dolls for $295. As a Collector Series doll, the bump in price reflects the dolls’ limited production, and each doll would ship with a certificate of authenticity and display-ready packaging.

Display-ready also doubles as “eBay-ready”, and that’s exactly where many of these dolls were headed. After selling out on Monday, we started seeing tons of new listings for the dolls at well above their retail prices.

Right now, American Girl Wednesday Addams Collector dolls are reselling for upwards of $400, with some sales going for up to $500.

That pencils out to $100 to $200 in quick profits from a single flip. Not at all bad, and not the kind of flip we’ll be turning down. And while these weren’t in stock for long, they weren’t particularly hard to buy. This was a product absolutely any reseller could profit from if they had the right info.

Of course, American Girl collectors are not happy about missing out, and are currently grousing on Reddit about the nasty resellers scoring triple digit profits off them.
