Pokemon's ESA Collab Launches October 4

The Pokemon Company and ESA are pulling out all the stops for this collab. A real Pikachu plush flew aboard the International Space Station with ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot, spending 67 days in orbit and completing roughly 1,040 trips around Earth before making it back home. On October 4, collectors will get the chance to buy one of those plushes for themselves.

The collection includes the two Astronaut Pikachu plush variants (one blue suit, one white suit), a bomber jacket, Pokemon TCG accessories featuring space-themed art, and additional apparel and accessories like tote bags, notepads, and pins through ESA’s own online shop. Most of it is expected to sell through Pokemon Center, with the ESA shop handling some of the branded apparel separately.

Pokemon drops with this kind of buildup do not sit on shelves. Those Pikachu Astronaut plushes are already at the top of many Pokemon fans’ wishlists, and we expect them to sell out almost immediately once the drop goes live.

We don’t have exact pricing on these plushes, but a $20 to $40 range feels reasonable depending on sizing. The rest of the collection also has the potential to flip, but most resellers and collectors will be focused on the Astronaut plushes.

We’ll update this piece once Pokemon Center or the ESA shop confirm pricing and an exact release time. For now, get October 4 on the calendar and be ready to move fast when it goes live.
