We’re not sure how big the overlap is between Barbie collectors and LeBron fans, but apparently it’s sizable enough for Mattel to be interested. LeBron James has signed on as the brand’s first “Kenbassador,” and his inaugural honor is a collector’s-grade doll. A limited number have already been sold through the La Brea UNDEFEATED store, and the full drop is set to release Monday. Here’s what you need to know if you’re considering buying one.

LeBron Ken Doll Announced

So, imagine you’re a bigwig at Mattel. You greenlit the Barbie movie, raked in a few hundred mil, and bought a new car. Everyone is buying Barbie dolls now, but you’re starting to run out of options.

After all, you’ve already done everything. There’s Claudia Schiffer Barbies, Stevie Nicks Barbies, Aaliyah Barbies. How much further can you dig?

Well, it turns out the answer was there all along: the men! Ken! Barbies are (traditionally) a girl’s doll, but adult collectors are becoming a major part of their sales base, so why not dolls for dudes?

LeBron James has been confirmed as Barbie’s first “Kenbassador,” with plans for more male figures to join the program in 2026. Starting April 14, you can pick up a LeBron Barbie at retailers like Target and Walmart.

Collectors had the opportunity to pick up a limited number of these dolls at UNDEFEATED in La Brea today, and a handful of autographed dolls will be available when their doors open on Monday. Check out the details here.

Barbie X LeBron Ken Dolls

Time for the important question: are these worth buying? If you’re the unicorn Barbie collector/LeBron fan that Mattel made these for, your mind is probably made up; but resellers have different criteria when it comes to Barbies.

For what it’s worth, we’re already seeing the Barbie LeBron Ken doll resell for upwards of $150 right now. Almost all the sold listings we’ve see are presales, meaning the sellers don’t actually have the dolls in hand.

That’s a good sign, but it’s hard to know how sales will hold up without concrete information on how many are actually being made. If these are rare enough, they might actually resell for a profit.

And obviously the signed dolls will flip for a ton, probably close to $1,000. If you’re going to be anywhere near La Brea on April 14, it might be worth swinging by the UNDEFEATED store and trying to snag one. Doors open at 11.
