Harveys has produced a new collection based on Winnie the Pooh
There are 21 new products with prices ranging from $30 to $200
Resellers have flipped some of the items for two, three, or even ten times retail
Earlier this week, SoCal-based bag manufacturer Harveys teamed up with Disney to produce a new line of products. We’ve got backpacks, crossbodies, and handbags that all feature classic characters and seatbelt-based construction. The Eeyore-themed products have been the most popular, and resellers have been able to make incredible profits by flipping them. Some are even reselling for more than ten times what they retailed for. Let’s take a look.
So first, let’s talk a bit about Harveys. Founded in 1997, this company has been operated by Santa Ana natives Dana and Melanie Harvey. Dana presented his wife with a handmade bag that cleverly incorporated bits of leftover seatbelt from a restored classic car, and a new business sprang up from the gift.
Since then, Harveys has produced all kinds of products, and all of them include seatbelts as a material in one way or another.
What we’re looking at today is a new Winnie the Pooh collection. The company actually has quite a long history with Disney, and has produced more than ten collaborative projects with the brand in the last five years.
This time it’s the gang from the Hundred Acre Woods. 21 new products were added to their website on March 4, from simple totes to keychains to backpacks.
And while all of these were popular, it’s the fancy character-based designs that resellers had their eyes on. There were two backpacks produced based on Winnie the Pooh and Tigger, a mini bucket with Piglet’s face on it, and a crossbody bag made to look like Eeyore.
There were also small keychains, straps, and purses based on the characters as well. Prices for the collection started at around $30 for the small stuff to $200 or so for the larger character-based designs.
The most popular items were these character bags, especially Eeyore. While the other characters were backpacks, the Eeyore crossbody was a more flexible design that could be worn in multiple ways or with different clothing.
In fact, all of the Eeyore bags sold out in under a minute. Also sold separately were small keychains based on Eeyore’s tail for $30. These also sold out fast, and now Disney adults are flocking to eBay.
Yes, yes, quite shocking. An item posted on the website “Resell Calendar” is in fact reselling. Well, good job if you guessed this twist. Harveys new Winnie the Pooh bags are reselling for quite a lot.
Right now, a Harveys Winnie or Tigger backpack is reselling for about $400, while the Eeyore Crossbodies are about the same. These retailed for just over $200, so resellers are essentially doubling their money.
If you think that’s good, things get even better. The Harveys Eeyore Tail Keychains are reselling for upwards of $200, with some sales actually exceeding $300.
These retailed for $34! Resellers are essentially pulling a free $250+ out of thin air just by flipping these products.
And because they were so popular, they resell extremely fast. This wasn’t a “hold onto it for four months and then maybe it’ll be profitable” situation; people were doubling, tripling, or even decupling their cash in under an hour.
Maybe it’s just us, but that sounds like more fun than working at McDonalds, and maybe just a bit more profitable. If you want to learn more about flips like these, you need to check out RC Elite. Not only were members tipped off about the collection before it went live, they were told specifically which products to buy.
That’s it. One Discord ping and your grocery bill is taken care of. If you could use that kind of money in your life, then it’s time to join RC Elite.
And of course you can always subscribe to our newsletter to stay updated. While the juiciest flips are saved for RC Elite members, we do share some opportunities through our website.
