Taylor Swift just gave the Toy Story franchise a soundtrack moment and resellers a payday in the same move. Two limited-edition 10-inch vinyl records tied to her original song for Toy Story 5 went up for a 24-hour preorder window, disappeared almost immediately, and are now trading for multiples on the secondary market. The CDs she dropped a few days earlier followed the same script. At this point, a Taylor Swift limited physical release selling out before the window closes is less of a surprise and more of a certainty.

Swift wrote “I Knew It, I Knew You” for Toy Story 5 with Jack Antonoff, her longtime producer and Bleachers bandmate, as an original song inspired by Jessie’s arc across the franchise.

The two 10-inch collector’s edition vinyl records are meaningfully different from each other in design. One is a circular picture disc styled after Jessie’s red cowboy hat; the other is pressed in the shape of a star, meant to evoke Jessie’s sheriff’s badge.

Both feature “I Knew It, I Knew You” on Side A and the instrumental version on Side B, with the Toy Story 5 logo on the flip side. The preorder window opened June 4 and was set to run 24 hours or until supplies ran out. Guess which came first.

A few days earlier, on June 1, Swift dropped three limited-edition CD singles through her webstore after transforming the entire site into a Pixar-themed scene complete with Jessie and a barn backdrop. The CDs each contained a distinct version of the track: the film version, an acoustic take, and a piano version. At $4 per disc, the $12 bundle was an easy pickup, and it still sold out before the 48-hour window could expire.

As we covered earlier this week, complete bundles of all three CDs are trading in the $40 to $50 range on eBay. That’s a modest but clean flip on a $12 investment. The vinyl is a different story.

I Knew It, I Knew You Vinyl Resells

Individual vinyl records are selling for around $100 each on the secondary market, with plenty of volume to confirm the price isn’t just a few outliers. Bundles featuring both the hat and badge LPs have sold for anywhere from $200 to $300. At $25 retail plus $10 shipping for each record, buyers spent $70 to land both. A $300 bundle sale nets roughly $261 after eBay’s 13% fee, putting the profit on that $70 spend at around $191.

Some buyers have reported that the $10 shipping charge was higher than the actual cost to ship, and say they received a partial refund. If you ordered either variant, check your email to see if money came back to you.
