A24 Has Official Backrooms Vinyl Up for Preorder Now

The Backrooms Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is pressed on two LPs of black vinyl, spanning 26 tracks across four sides. The tracklist pulls from the film’s full score, covering everything from the quieter, dread-soaked ambient stretches to the more overtly unsettling moments that the Backrooms mythos is built around.

Track titles like “Quiet Wall in Dark Room,” “Feeling of a Door Imminently Remembered,” and “Furnished Dead End” are doing a lot of heavy lifting on atmosphere before you even drop the needle.

Under the handle Kane Pixels, Parsons began posting to YouTube in 2015, starting with Minecraft videos and internet memes. His real focus was always filmmaking. In January 2022, at 16 years old, he posted “The Backrooms (Found Footage),” a short film built around the liminal horror aesthetic of the Backrooms creepypasta. hTe production quality was miles ahead of what you’d expect from a teenager’s YouTube channel, and today that video has accumulated over 80 million views.

Music has always been central to his creative identity. He’s a trained pianist who scored his YouTube series himself, and has his own Spotify and SoundCloud accounts with music from those earlier projects. For fans of Kane Pixels specifically, the soundtrack vinyl is a piece of a creative universe they’ve been following for years.

Parsons’ co-composer is a Vancouver-based film scorer with a strong resume in atmospheric horror. Van Breemen scored The Monkey and Keeper, both released in 2025, and worked previously on Afflicted, Air, and Hollow in the Land. His approach, built around minimal acoustic textures, live recordings, and what he describes as “letting silence speak,” lines up well with what Backrooms needs tonally.

The vinyl release arrives in the context of A24 building out a legitimate line of Backrooms collectibles, and this community has shown it will spend money. Both generated real interest from fans and collectors.

The vinyl fits the same collector profile. At $40 retail for a 2XLP on a film that broke A24’s box office record, it’s a reasonable entry point, and the director’s direct involvement in composing the score gives it more collectible weight than a standard licensed soundtrack.

How well it holds on the secondary market will depend on pressing quantity, which A24 hasn’t disclosed. A limited run that closes out could push used copies to $60 to $80 without much trouble. An unlimited pressing that stays in the shop indefinitely keeps prices flat.
