Earlier this month, Squishmallow partnered with See’s Candies for an unexpected collaboration. Fans were able to pick up a bundle from See’s locations across the country, which included some chocolate and a very collectable Squishmallow. Now that they’re sold out, resellers have begun listing their bundles for well over what See’s was charging for them. Let’s take a look.

For most of us, a trip to the mall means a sweet treat. Some spring for Cinnabon, others go right for their Orange Julius. And at many malls across the country, See’s Candies are a welcome sight for any chocolate lover.

But last week, See’s stores were mobbed by an unlikely crowd: Squishmallow collectors. To celebrate Halloween and bump up both companies’ profit margins, See’s and Squishmallow partnered on a special and limited edition collection.

The See’s X Squishmallow Halloween collection featured a unique variant of Emily the Bat. These are 8″ versions of the popular plush, and sport a distinct green ribcage pattern that is not available anywhere else.

Also included was a collectable candy box made to resemble the plush, with five different spooky chocolates inside. You could buy the See’s X Squishmallow bundle both online and in stores for $40.

The online stock disappeared fast, but it might still be possible to find these at your local See’s stores if you’re lucky. Squishmallow fans were very excited for this drop though, and we’ve seen anecdotal reports of collectors rushing stores on opening day in search of the bundle.

Still, it’s something to keep in mind next time you find yourself at the mall. With how popular these Squishmallows are, it’s no surprise to see them selling out.

And when we have a sold out product, we have a potential flip. Experienced resellers know that Squishmallow collectors don’t play about their plushes, and are willing to fork over cash to get what they want.

Right now, See’s X Squishmallow 8″ Emily plushes are reselling for around $100. Most sellers are opting to flip the entire bundle, but collectors are mainly just interested in the plush.

For the resellers that got in early, this bundle was an opportunity to make $50 or more in profit. If you got lucky enough to find several of them for sale at your local See’s, that money could add up very fast.

Don’t be surprised to see Squishmallows reselling for premium prices. We’ve covered past releases from the brand like Rivka the Cow and their various Pokemon collabs, and they’ve been plenty profitable.

And this time we had the added bonus of candy. It’s not hard to see why these flipped, and we expect to see the sales keep rolling.
