Halo: Campaign Evolved Collector's Editions Hit eBay for $700

Halo: Campaign Evolved is a full remake of the 2001 Halo: Combat Evolved campaign, rebuilt with updated visuals, cinematics, and controls, plus three new prequel missions. The full release is July 28, 2026, with five days of early access beginning July 23 for Premium and Collector’s Edition buyers.

The Collector’s Edition contents justified the $200 price point for serious fans. Buyers got a physical game disc for Xbox Series X or PS5 (or a Steam Premium Edition voucher), a SteelBook, a 12-inch Master Chief statue, a replica LED Cortana chip, three 11×17 concept art pieces, and a modernized recreation of the original 2001 Combat Evolved game manual.

That last item generated a lot of attention as a callback to the disc era of gaming, and it clearly resonated. A Collector’s Edition for the remake of the game that sold the original Xbox, complete with a physical manual, hit every nostalgia trigger in the book.

Preorders went live during the show, and they sold out shortly afterwards. This is very unusual for a video game collector’s edition, as preorders are usually open and in stock for several months prior to the game’s release. With the game set to launch in July, Microsoft likely didn’t have enough bundles stockpiled to meet demand.

The official Xbox Game Studios Shop page shows the item as out of stock with a back-in-stock notification signup. On eBay, active presale listings are asking $545 to $700 depending on platform and seller. Ironically, PS5 editions make up the majority of listings.

Premium physical collector’s editions for major games have also become increasingly rare as publishers shift toward digital upgrades and battle passes. A package with a statue, concept art, and a physical manual callback stands out more now than it would have a decade ago.

At $200 retail, resellers stand to score hundreds of dollars in profit, even after platform and shipping fees. This is one of the most lucrative video game collector’s edition we’ve covered in months, and it’s likely that only (the still unconfirmed) GTA 6 collector’s editions will eclipse it.

Microsoft has the back-in-stock signup on the product page, but that’s a standard practice for most sold-out products. Given that the game ships in July and these are physical items with production lead times, orders may not open again until after the game’s launch.

That said, it’s still possible that Halo: Campaign Evolved Collector’s Editions will restock soon. If that happens they will likely only be available in small numbers and/or ship several weeks or months after launch.

If you were lucky enough to grab one of these at $199.99, you’re sitting on a very solid flip. A $300–$400 profit on a single item, with a clean presale structure and a high-demand franchise behind it, is one of the better video game resale setups in recent memory.
