Key Points

  • Pokemon has tapped tons of brands for a variety of limited edition releases

  • Resellers have taken advantage of the situation and are turning profits on a regular basis

  • Several drops on this list are slated for later in the year

Pokemon turns 30 this year, and the brand has spent the better part of 2026 reminding every company with a licensing budget that the anniversary is happening. The result has been one of the more chaotic years for Pokemon crossover merchandise in recent memory, spanning luxury handbags, EDM concerts, skateboards, and at least one product that made us do a genuine double take.

Why Pokemon's 30th Anniversary is Important

Pokemon is one of the highest-grossing media franchises in history, and milestone anniversaries like this create a proven commercial window that brands line up to be part of.

For resellers, anniversary years like this are consistently good hunting ground. The combination of nostalgia, limited runs, and mass cultural attention drives demand in ways that standalone releases often don’t. When a brand the size of Pokemon puts its weight behind a collab, the collector base follows, and the secondary market usually follows shortly after. We’ve been tracking Pokemon-related opportunities all year, and there’s been more than enough to work with.

Below is a rundown of the Pokemon collabs that have caught our attention in 2026, ranging from legitimate reselling opportunities to things that are simply too strange not to mention.

MAISON de SABRE Pikachu Handbags

Australian luxury leather goods brand MAISON de SABRE released a Pikachu-themed handbag collection for Pokemon Day 2026 and it is exactly as over-engineered as that sentence implies.

The flagship piece, the Pikachu Palais, takes two days to assemble and is made from 44 individually cut leather panels layered by hand to form the character’s likeness. It retails for $779. It has lightning bolt zipper pulls and a Pokeball motif on the gusset.

These bags released through Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdales, and Revolve earlier this year, and a handful of them were resold on eBay for over $1,000.

Pokemon LEGO Sets

LEGO and Pokemon officially joined forces this year for a long-awaited collaboration, releasing a series of sets including buildable versions of Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise. These are genuinely nice sets and sold briskly when they launched. They also triggered one of the stranger reselling discourse moments of the year.

Shortly after the sets hit shelves, a wave of financial Twitter content went viral encouraging readers to buy multiple sets and hold them for years as a guaranteed investment. The pitch was straightforward: LEGO sets appreciate over time, Pokemon is huge, therefore buy as many as you can afford and wait. The posts spread widely, reaching an audience that doesn’t usually pay attention to the secondary market.

We wrote a detailed response at the time explaining why this was bad advice. The short version: LEGO is exceptionally good at managing production to meet demand, new sets almost never stay scarce, and tying up hundreds of dollars in plastic bricks for years is an inefficient use of reselling capital. There are smarter plays.

For context, if you have bought a Kanto Starter LEGO set in January for $650, you could resell it today for… $650. After eBay fees and shipping costs, you stand to pocket around $550, so following this random finance bro’s advice would have lost you about $100 in five months. Be careful who you listen to on the internet, and stick with the experts when it comes to reselling for a profit.

GameStop Gengar Promo Card Giveaway

In late March, GameStop ran a one-day promotion giving away a Gengar Pokemon promo card with any in-store purchase of $15 or more. Your cost of entry was whatever you spent to hit the threshold. A cheap used game, a gift card, a controller cable. The card itself was immediately flipping for up to $150 on eBay.

We covered it when it launched, and the window closed quickly. Reports of 45-minute lines at some locations confirmed the card drew real foot traffic. GameStop has run limited promo card giveaways multiple times now, and this format consistently produces secondary market value. If GameStop announces another Pokemon promo, be ready.

Target X Pokemon 30th Anniversary Collection

The Target x Pokemon collaboration was one of the biggest drops of the year, and it produced more opportunities for resellers than almost any single product launch we covered in 2026. Over 100 items across apparel, accessories, home goods, beauty, and food, all exclusive to Target and timed to the 30th anniversary.

Wave 1 launched in stores on May 2 and online May 3. Wave 2 arrives June 6.

Our initial coverage tracked hundreds of sales in the first 48 hours, and the standouts were clear. Resellers were clearing hundreds of dollars flipping the hottest merch, with the Starter jackets and limited edition keyboards flipping for more than double their retail price.

The collection also produced a stranger opportunity. The various cardboard decorations, pegboards, and aisle endcaps that made up displays started popping up on eBay, with prices ranging from $200 to $400 or more.

These are promotional materials that end up in circulation through employees accessing disposal cycles, not items sold by Target. The market is real, if niche, and it will repeat when the June 6 wave comes down.

For Wave 2 on June 6, watch the same categories. The jacket and crossbody bag were the strongest flips from Wave 1. If comparable items appear in the second wave, the demand is still there.

Santa Cruz Pokemon Blind Bag Skateboards

The most significant drop on this list from a pure reseller standpoint is still several months away, but it deserves the most attention because the precedent is documented and exceptional.

In September 2023, Santa Cruz Skateboards and Pokemon released a blind bag collection of 20 skateboard decks featuring Pokemon TCG card art. Blind bags retailed for $110. Within 24 hours, sealed bags were flipping for $250 to $350 on eBay. The five ultra-rare gold foil variants, limited to 50 copies each worldwide, traded for up to $15,000 for a sealed bag that might contain one. Three years later, sealed 2023 blind bags still sell for $200 to $400 depending on timing and condition.

This fall, Santa Cruz is doing it again. The 2026 release expands to 30 designs drawn from iconic Pokemon TCG art across the franchise’s 30-year history. Each deck ships in an opaque blind bag, maintaining the same booster pack lottery dynamic that drove the 2023 frenzy. Additionally, three glitter gold variants have been produced, with each limited to 500 units globally.

Retail pricing hasn’t been confirmed but is expected to land around $150. Sign up for email notifications on Santa Cruz’s Pokemon landing page now.

The blind bag format is the key mechanic. Collectors building complete sets need multiple bags. Resellers who cop at retail have a documented floor of $250 per sealed bag and significant upside if rare variants are confirmed. Both buyer types are going to be competing hard for the same inventory this fall.

Marshmello at Pokemon Night Out

The Pokemon Company announced “Pokemon Night Out” in April: two arena EDM concerts headlined by Marshmello, with Alison Wonderland supporting. The shows are set for October 24 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles and November 10 at the O2 in London.

This is the first time Pokemon has partnered with major EDM artists for a live concert concept, which is a notable step for a franchise that spent most of its existence in the kids’ entertainment lane.

The promotional materials look good, and the announcement confirmed that limited exclusive merchandise from the Pokemon Center will be available both at the shows and online in limited quantities after the events. That merchandise component is the thread to pull for resellers. Concert-exclusive Pokemon Center drops have historically moved well on the secondary market, and the rarity of a two-city worldwide run makes these more interesting than standard Pokemon Center product. No details on what the merchandise will include yet. Watch for announcements closer to October.

Chicago Field Museum Archeops Pokemon Promo

The Pokemon Fossil Museum arrived at the Chicago Field Museum in late May, and every ticketed attendee with both a general admission ticket and the $18 Pokemon exhibition add-on receives a free Archeops promo card at the door. The exhibition runs through April 11, 2027.

We covered the launch in detail, and the pattern mirrors what Pokemon has done at the Natural History Museum in London and, before that, their infamous Van Gogh Museum collaboration. Attaching a promo card to a ticketed museum experience generates immediate secondary market value from collectors who can’t make the trip. Early sales hit $400 in the first days of opening.

Museum Archeops Pokemon Promo for Sale

The exhibition runs for nearly a year, so supply is ongoing, which keeps the ceiling lower than one-off promos. But for Chicago-area resellers, the math is reasonable. General admission and exhibition tickets run around $39 for Chicago residents. The cards are still reselling for around $100, netting roughly $48 profit per visitor after eBay fees. Not a major flip, but a consistent one for anyone who lives nearby and doesn’t mind a museum trip.

Bottom Line

2026 is shaping up to be one of the most lucrative years in recent history for resellers, and Pokemon’s 30th Anniversary is a big contributor.

But they’re not the only brand having a good time. One Piece has kicked off 2026 with a college basketball tour, a collab with Popeye’s that had limited edition merch flipping for $400+, and a second One Piece Night scheduled at Dodger Stadium.

Next week, BTS and Oreo will roll out their groundbreaking limited edition flavor to fans worldwide, and YuGiOh has confirmed their new set Magnificent Monsters will be launching in September, bringing Grand Master Rare cards to the TCG for the first time.

To make it quick: resellers are having a lot of fun right now. From a price error that gave away tens of thousands of dollars in airline miles to art exhibitions distributing $10,000+ worth of trading cards to attendees, there’s no shortage of opportunities.
