Key Points

  • A leaker has posted new details on LEGO’s upcoming Pokemon collection

  • Three sets were leaked, along with their prices and sizes

  • One set is 6,838 pieces and $650, making it one of the biggest sets ever produced

We’ve finally got some more (unconfirmed) information on the upcoming LEGO X Pokemon collaboration. A new leak was published online earlier this morning, outlining the expected set sizes and pricing, along with a potential look at release times and LEGO insider early preorders. Because this is the first official LEGO Pokemon collection, hype is at an all time high among collectors and resellers. We’re expecting this to be one of the biggest LEGO drops of all time.

2026 LEGO Pokemon Collaboration

If you’re out of the loop on this, let us fill you in. Earlier this year, LEGO confirmed that they had finally inked a deal with the Pokemon Company for an official collaboration.

While there have been plenty of bootleg Pokemon LEGOs and several Mega Bloks sets, this is the first time in either companies’ history they’ll be working together. The announcement was accompanied by a brief teaser video posted on Xitter.

And that was literally all the information we had to go on at the time. No confirmed sets, no prices, no specific release date other than a “coming in 2026” tagline.

While nothing has changed officially, a leak was posted on various LEGO and Pokemon subreddits with new details and quickly picked up viral attention.

According to the leak, three new sets will be released in the LEGO X Pokemon collaboration: 72151, 72152, and 72153. All three sets are aimed at 18+ builders. Additionally set sizes and prices were revealed, 587 pieces for $60, 2,050 pieces for $200, and a whopping 6,838 pieces for $650.

Pokemon LEGO Leak 2026 Reseller Details

That’s notable for a few reasons. If this leak is accurate, LEGO set 72153 would be one of the largest LEGO sets ever produced by piece count, landing on the top ten list just behind the 7,541 LEGO Millennium Falcon.

Bigger is always better, especially when it comes to LEGO. When we’ve covered past sets that have flipped for a profit, it’s usually the massive ones with high upfront retail prices that are the most profitable.

What's in the LEGO Pokemon Collection?

It’s clear that LEGO is targeting this collection towards adult Pokemon fans with money to burn. Aside from the size and price details, there’s no information on what the sets will actually be, although a life-size Pikachu is certainly in the cards.

Many Redditors have been speculating on the possible designs. Some believe that a massive Pokemon stadium with multiple minifigs is a likely fit for the large set, while others have suggested that a LEGO version of all 151 Pokemon is on the way (averaging out to around 40 pieces per mon).

LEGO Pokemon Leak Release Details

Our favorite comment suggested that LEGO should start selling the 151 original Pokemon as a blind bag series, nearly guaranteeing a mad scavenger hunt among collectors and massive profits for resellers.

LEGO Pokemon Collection Release Date

While a 2026 release date was already confirmed in the original announcement, the leak gave us some additional details. It seems like the LEGO Pokemon collaboration is slated for a March 1 general release, while preorders will open February 27 for LEGO insiders.

That puts it almost exactly a year out from the collection’s first announcement. LEGO will have obviously had enough time to produce as many sets as they want by then.

Will the LEGO Pokemon Collection Resell?

We want to reiterate that all of this information comes from a single unsourced leak. LEGO has not updated their website or provided any new details, although the format of this leak is almost identical to other high profile LEGO leaks that were proven true at a later date.

Which is a longer way of saying “we’re speculating here, so bring a salt shaker”. Before we give our thoughts, let’s talk a bit about what makes a LEGO resell.

Unlike most other products we cover, newly produced LEGO sets rarely sell out. If they do, they’re usually only on backorder for a brief period before becoming available again. The preorder windows are also quite long, meaning that anyone who wants a set direct from LEGO can usually get one.

Resellers usually turn a profit or at least break even by strategically reselling small portions of a set or the bonuses that come with them. The LEGO Barad-dûr set shipped with several exclusive minifigs along with a limited edition Fell Beast set.

By selling these extras on the side, resellers were able to secure profits of $200 to $300 at a time, nearly recouping the entire cost of the $460 set.

LEGO Barad dur Minifig for Sale

So this might not be a “make a ton of profit flipping LEGOs” opportunity, but more of a “get a brand new LEGO set for 75% off” opportunity. If that’s not interesting to you, you might want to consider giving it a skip.

But of course we won’t know anything for certain until LEGO actually drops some details. That could happen at any time, although we’re expecting to hear more from them by January at the latest.
