Daft Punk X PLEASURES G-Shock Drops Next Week

Daft Punk split in 2021, making this one of the few official collaborations since they called it quits. PLEASURES has worked with the duo on apparel before, but this is their first watch. The DW-5600 silhouette is G-Shock’s most iconic model and the base for nearly every major collaboration.

The design is slick. Daft Punk’s helmets on the lower bezel, neon graphics referencing their Discovery-era LED suits, “Digital Love” branding on the display. The backlight reveal is a nice touch that shows someone actually thought about the execution instead of slapping logos on a standard watch.

This is a proper limited release, not a general production run. G-Shock collabs with streetwear brands and music acts typically see small quantities spread across retailers. If you want it, be ready at drop time.

Alternatively, you can try to snag one through PLEASURES’ website. They’ve allocated 75 watches for their newsletter subscribers to go live before the public drop.

Obviously, the gray market for G-Shock watches is different from what you might be used to. Their designs are usually produced in bigger numbers and they flip for smaller margins.

But that doesn’t mean they don’t hit. In 2023, Hidden’s collaboration with G-Shock was so popular that the entire stock was purchased by early allocation buyers, and we quickly saw the watches flipping for nearly double their retail price within a few hours.

PLEASURES is enforcing a one-per-customer limit, which suggests total production is tight. When brands limit quantities that aggressively, it’s usually because they don’t have many to sell. G-Shock hasn’t disclosed how many they’re releasing, but expect similar restrictions.

If you’re buying to wear or collect, $180 is fair for what you’re getting. G-Shock quality, iconic silhouette, and Daft Punk branding that won’t come around again.

For resellers, this is a calculated play. Be ready at drop time, secure one, and watch the market. Early flips might see $250-300, but make sure you check the return policy before you pull the trigger.

Keep in mind G-Shock drops can be unpredictable. Sometimes they sell out in minutes, sometimes they sit for hours.
