Key Points

  • The Blood Records coral splatter variant retailed for approximately $50 and sold out quickly from their website

  • Current eBay sold listings show the pressing flipping for around $100, double the retail price

  • Limited to 7,500 numbered copies worldwide, making it significantly rarer than standard anniversary pressings

The UK-based vinyl innovator Blood Records released an exclusive coral splatter variant to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here. This pressing features what Blood Records calls a “quadratic coral splatter effect” across the vinyl. The company has built a reputation over the past few years for creating limited, visually distinctive pressings of classic and contemporary albums, working with everyone from Oasis to Sabrina Carpenter.

Pink Floyd’s ninth studio album needs little introduction. Released in 1975, Wish You Were Here followed the massive commercial success of The Dark Side of the Moon and is a foundational record for annoying college roommates and dads worldwide.

The album features some of the band’s most iconic work, including the nine-part “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” tribute to former member Syd Barrett, plus “Welcome to the Machine” and the title track. It topped charts on both sides of the Atlantic and has sold an estimated 13 million copies worldwide.

While Sony Music is set to release an extensive 50th anniversary collection in December 2025 with multiple formats including a deluxe box set, 3LP version, and Blu-ray with Dolby Atmos mix, Blood Records offered something different for collectors seeking a unique pressing.

The Blood Records variant is currently moving on eBay for around $100, with consistent sales at that price point. This puts it well above both the retail price and standard anniversary pressings, which are widely available at regular retail channels.

Prices will likely stay around the $100 mark as the initial wave of flippers moves inventory. Supply is limited and demand from collectors who missed the initial drop remains solid. We might see occasional sales slightly above $100 from sellers testing the market.

If you snagged one at retail, flipping now for $100 gives you a clean double-up after eBay’s fees. As a final sale item there was some risk here for resellers, although the early sales are a good sign.

We have seen some reissued vinyl appreciate in value after its release, but that’s usually because of some novelty associated with the pressing like Motley Crue’s blood-filled vinyl or Sleep’s Dopesmoker vinyl infused with real weed leaves. It’s unlikely these records will see the same fan reaction.

Which is fine. Not everything can be a home run, and sometimes bunting for solid profits is all you need to do as a reseller.
