Leatherman’s “From the Vault” event is live now, bringing back some of its most collectible Garage releases for three days. Some tools are first-come, first-served on Leatherman’s website. Others are lottery-only, meaning entries are open through April 2 and everyone gets an equal shot. If you’ve wanted any of these, this is your moment.

What Leatherman Garage Knives Should you Buy?

There are three Garage releases in the lottery that resellers should know about, ranked by resell potential.

The top priority is Batch #002 The Darkside. Originally released in 2022 at $250, it’s back at the same price. The Darkside is an experimental evolution of the Charge build with unique materials and coatings, and it was flipping for up to $800 at its peak after the original drop. If you’re entering one lottery, make it this one.

Second is Batch #001 Mr. Crunch at $200, a reborn prototype based on Tim Leatherman’s original double-pliers concept from the 1980s. Mr. Crunch has flipped for around $120 in profit before, so it’s a solid if unspectacular entry. Worth noting: the ARC Obsidian, a limited-edition MagnaCut variant of the extremely popular ARC multitool, is also listed on the vault page but is already showing as sold out. It may resurface in the lottery as new items are expected each morning, so keep an eye on the page.

Third is Batch #004 Europe75 at $125. It’s a travel-focused knife with a proven resell track record, with previous releases trading in the $300 range on secondary market. Solid margin at the lowest entry point of the three.

One conspicuously absent knife is the Leatherman Garage 005 Anniversary, the most collectible release in the series and the one that put the Garage line on resellers’ radar. Batch #005 was trading for over $1,000 after its original release.

It hasn’t been confirmed for this vault opening, but Leatherman is adding items daily through April 2. If it shows up in any form, buy it. Even a reissue will flip for several hundred dollars in profit given historical demand.

Bottom Line

The Leatherman Garage series was explicitly positioned as limited edition with no restocks expected. That promise is now being broken. By reopening sales on items sold as one-time drops, Leatherman is showing that “limited edition” is more flexible than collectors assumed.

The current opportunity is still real, but be cautious treating future Garage drops as guaranteed appreciating assets. Flip what you can, and think twice before holding long term.
