Key Points

  • The 2027 Masters ticket application is open through June 20 and is free to enter

  • Attendance is strictly limited; tickets can resell for thousands of dollars

  • In-person attendees turn huge profits by flipping members-exclusive Augusta merch after the tournament

Every year, the Masters ticket lottery is one of the most obvious low-effort, no-cost opportunities on our calendar. Applications are free, they take five minutes to submit, and on the very slim chance you actually win, expect to come home with a few extra thousand dollars in your carry-on.

How to Get 2027 Masters Tickets

Unlike other golf tournaments, entrance to the Masters is strictly controlled. Estimates place the total number of attendees at just under 100,000, and barrier to entry is an opaque lottery system that millions of people enter year after year after year.

The Masters ticket application is open at Masters.com through June 20, 2026. Creating an account and submitting takes a few minutes and costs nothing. Successful applicants are notified in late July and will receive payment instructions at that time. Tickets are mailed in March 2027.

There are seven days you can apply for: three practice round days (Monday through Wednesday) and four tournament days (Thursday through Sunday). You can apply for all seven days, but you will only be selected for one. Apply for the maximum number of tickets for every single day — it does not hurt your odds on any particular day, and more applications just mean more shots at winning something.

Masters ticket prices are unchanged from 2026. Monday and Tuesday practice rounds are $125 each, Wednesday is $150, and all four tournament days are $160. You can purchase up to four practice round tickets or up to two tournament day tickets.

Important Note

  • Augusta will only accept one entry per address

  • If multiple entries are submitted using the same address, they will all be thrown out

  • Make sure you coordinate with roommates or family and only submit a single entry for a household

  • Violating this policy does not result in a blacklist, but it will void your eligibility until next year’s tournament

What are Masters Tickets Actually Worth?

The Masters has one of the most persistent secondary markets in sports. Practice round tickets, which go for $125 to $150 at face value, have regularly traded on the secondary market in the $1,000 to $2,000 range.

Tournament day tickets push higher, with prices reaching $5,000 or more for weekend rounds. Final round tickets are in a different tier entirely — Sunday of the Masters is as close to a guaranteed four-figure flip as sports ticketing gets, often clearing well above $5,000 depending on the field and the storyline.

Masters 2026 Tournament Ticket for Sale

The 2027 Masters is scheduled for April 5 to 11 at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. Rory McIlroy is the defending champion after back-to-back wins, which tends to drive demand upward.

That said, the secondary market for Masters tickets has shrunk noticeably over the past two years. SeatGeek stopped listing Masters tickets entirely for 2026. StubHub has flagged extremely low inventory. The reasons for that are covered below.

August Cracks Down on Masters Ticket Resellers

Augusta National has become increasingly aggressive about policing ticket resales, and the 2026 tournament marked a significant escalation.

Reports from that week described club representatives pulling patrons aside on the grounds to ask where they obtained their tickets. Some fans who could not prove a connection to the original lottery winner were turned away at the gate. Long-standing badge holders received letters permanently revoking their access after tickets associated with their accounts appeared on the secondary market.

The theories about how Augusta detects resales include RFID chips embedded in badges, barcodes containing the original buyer’s address, club-employed undercover agents working the grounds, and the club itself purchasing resale tickets to identify sellers.

The policy is explicit on the official website: “Augusta National, Inc. is the only authorized source/seller of Masters Tickets. The resale of any Masters Ticket is strictly prohibited. Holders of Tickets acquired from third parties, by whatever means, may be excluded from attendance to the Tournament.”

The club distinguishes resale from transferral — technically, you can give or transfer a ticket to someone you know. The problem is that Augusta’s enforcement does not always make that distinction cleanly.

We will state this very plainly: if you have any interest in attending the Masters at some point in your life, whether that’s next year or in the next decade, scalping a ticket puts those plans in jeopardy. There’s a strong chance you’ll receive a lifetime ban, and will be trespassed if you ever step foot near Augusta.

Fortunately, there’s another way for golf fans and resellers to enjoy the tournament, if they’re lucky enough to win a ticket.

Official Masters Merch Resells

If you do win a ticket and attend, the Masters gift shop is its own conversation. Augusta National is a members-only club, meaning the on-site gift shop is only accessible to members for most of the year. The Masters is the one week when non-members can walk through it. Everything sold there is exclusive to tournament week, and the demand on the secondary market for Augusta merch reflects that.

From their iconic gnomes to swanky golf balls, headcovers, hats, or even branded drink kits, pretty much anything sold with an official ANGC stamp is worth its weight in gold after the tournament is over.

Attendees who spend strategically can more than recoup the cost of travel, tickets, food, and lodging through merch flips alone, often coming out several thousand dollars ahead. And you get to watch the best golfers in the world play on the sport’s hallowed grounds.

Bottom Line

The application is free, takes five minutes, and closes June 20. Apply for every day. Winning a ticket is extremely unlikely, and potentially extremely lucrative.

Even if you don’t give a damn about golf, do yourself a favor and enter the lottery. Remember that you have options.

Resell Calendar respects August National, Inc.’s position as the only authorized seller of Masters tickets. We do not encourage or endorse the unauthorized resale of tickets for any event.
