Yesterday morning, Bratz dropped the latest dolls in their three-part Mean Girls collaborations. Resellers jumped on the opportunity, and within a few hours we started seeing them flip for triple digit profits. Let’s get into it.

Being a Bratz collector is hard. Every week there’s a new doll coming out that you simply have to buy, and every week that doll sells out before you can get one. If it’s not other fans competing with you, it’s horrible, nasty, unemployed resellers spoiling all the fun.

But maybe there’s enough space in the hobby for everyone. Collectors should stop hogging all the dolls and let resellers have some, and we can all just get along. If you read our article on Bratz Mean Girls collection, you would know just how exciting reselling Bratz can be.

We’ll give you a little refresher. MGA has produced a line of four different Bratz dolls based on 2004’s “Mean Girls”. The first two, Cady and Regina, sold earlier in October and quickly flipped. The last two, Gretchen and Karen, were sold as a package deal for $100 in total.

These dropped on October 31, and were highly awaited by Bratz collectors. While we expected the entire collection to sell out and promptly resell, we also figured that the Gretchen and Karen dolls wouldn’t go for much.

Well, we were wrong. Bratz fans showed up in force for the drop, and the entire stock was sold out in under five minutes.

This time, it feels good to get things wrong. As the riskiest part of the collection, many resellers were on the fence going into this drop, and only swayed by MGA’s refund policy.

Within a few hours of the sale ending, Bratz Mean Girls Karen and Gretchen dolls were reselling for around $200. That said, things have definitely slowed down since yesterday, and the average eBay sale is settling closer to $160.

This just goes to show important selling early can be. While it’s tempting to hold onto your items in hope of a big payday, the safer, smarter move is usually to flip it a profit in the here and now.

In any case, this was a great flip for anyone that got one. And at the end of the day, is this anything but a win-win? Bratz collectors get the toys they need, resellers get the cash they’ve rightfully earned, and everyone can share a laugh.
