MB&F raffles have been some of the most reliable flips in the watch world, and another one is opening soon. The M.A.D.2 R&B is the latest release from M.A.D. Editions, the accessible offshoot of Swiss luxury watchmaker MB&F, and it’s heading to raffle in three days. If MB&F’s track record holds, winners who bought the watch at retail and flipped it are looking at a return of roughly three times their money — and that’s on the conservative end.

What is MB&F's M.A.D.2 Watch?

MB&F (Maximilian Büsser and Friends) is a Swiss luxury watchmaker known for producing some of the most avant-garde timepieces in the industry, with flagship Horological Machines that regularly retail in the $60,000 to $200,000 range. M.A.D. Editions is the accessible offshoot, offering the same design DNA at a price most collectors can actually reach.

The M.A.D.2 R&B is inspired by 1990s club culture: a black dial with red subdials, hence R&B — a play on the colors and the genre. It runs on a La Joux-Perret automatic movement with a 64-hour power reserve in a 42mm stainless steel case. M.A.D. Edition buyers are collectors first, which is part of why secondary market demand stays elevated long after a release closes.

The track record here is hard to argue with. We covered the M.A.D.1 RED raffle in 2023 — that watch retailed for around $3,100 and was flipping for $7,000 to $10,000 on Chrono24. The original M.A.D.1 from 2021 was trading at roughly 500% of retail on the secondary market. The R&B is limited to 1,500 pieces globally, keeping the scarcity profile consistent with earlier releases.

The raffle opens on April 14 and closes April 20, coinciding with Geneva Watch Week. Entries are free and limited to one per person. After the draw closes, winners are contacted and offered the chance to purchase the watch at CHF 2,900 plus applicable taxes — roughly $3,200 USD before VAT, though the exact final price will depend on your region and currency conversion at the time of purchase.

MB&F M.A.D.2 REDemption Watches

At the same time, MB&F is releasing the M.A.D.2 REDemption — an inverted colorway with a red-dominant dial and black subdials. The REDemption is not available by raffle. Instead, it’s being offered as a direct purchase to collectors who have entered at least four previous M.A.D. Editions raffles without winning. If you’ve been entering MB&F raffles consistently and striking out, you qualify.

This is the riskier option. The REDemption’s edition size hasn’t been published, which makes the scarcity picture harder to assess. For watch resellers with the qualifying raffle history, it’s worth taking seriously. For everyone else, the R&B raffle is the play.
