It holds 85 ounces of popcorn and yes, you can wear it on your head. At $21.95, it’s one of the more reasonably priced collectible buckets we’ve seen lately, especially given the IP attached.

The Michael biopic is the first authorized film about Jackson’s life, with the estate involved in production. That legitimacy should drive hardcore fans to theaters in big numbers, and that audience is exactly who pays secondary market prices for collectibles like this. Cinemark is also selling a black and silver diamond tumbler for around $15, and that’s where the real opportunity gets interesting.

The move here isn’t just flipping the bucket on its own. Resellers are pairing the bucket and the tumbler together and moving sets for upwards of $100 on the secondary market. At a combined retail of roughly $37, that’s a solid flip, netting approximately $50 after eBay’s 13% fee. Not life-changing money, but a clean return on a quick trip to Cinemark.

Individual buckets on their own are selling somewhere in the $50 to $65 range as the film’s release approaches and in-theater availability becomes the only option. Buying at full retail and flipping a single bucket gets you around $20 to $35 after fees, which is decent. The bundle is the better play if you can source both.

We’ve seen this pattern before. The Sinners guitar case bucket at AMC moved at 2.5 to 3X retail once theater availability tightened. The Yoshi bucket for Super Mario Galaxy showed similar demand driven by IP strength and a design collectors actually want on a shelf. The Michael bucket checks both boxes.

Once the film opens, in-person availability will thin out fast. Keep these clean if you’re flipping them, any popcorn residue or damage tanks the value immediately.
