MSI’s Mandalorian and Grogu RTX 5080 is limited to 500 units and available in Europe only
No official price has been confirmed, but comparable MSI 5080 models suggest around $1,600
The card launches May 22, the same day the Mandalorian and Grogu film hits theaters worldwide
MSI just revealed one of the more interesting GPU collabs we’ve seen in a while: a limited-edition RTX 5080 themed around Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu. Only 500 of these are being made, and they’re going exclusively to European markets. If you’re based in Europe or have access to a forwarding service, this one is worth your attention. The 5080 is already a high-demand card at retail, and slapping Star Wars branding on a run of 500 units tends to do things to secondary market pricing.
The MSI GeForce RTX 5080 16G Mandalorian and Grogu Edition OC is a fully functional, high-end GPU. Under the Star Wars skin, you’re getting NVIDIA’s Blackwell architecture with DLSS 4.5 support and MSI’s TRI FROZR 4 cooling setup.
The collectible details are where it gets interesting: the card uses a brushed metal finish modeled after Din Djarin’s Mandalorian armor, includes a Grogu-shaped GPU support bracket, and comes with a magnetic backplate that accepts four interchangeable plates representing the Mandalorian, Grogu, the New Republic, and the Imperial Remnants.
That last part matters for resell. This card doesn’t just have branding slapped on it. It has a full collector’s package, which tends to hold value better on the secondary market than a simple colorway swap.
The release date is May 22, which is also the worldwide theatrical opening of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu. That’s not a coincidence, and it’s also not nothing. Movie-tied collectibles can go a few different ways depending on how the film performs, but the Mandalorian franchise already has a massive fanbase from the Disney+ series.
No official price has been announced. Based on where standard MSI RTX 5080 models are sitting at retail, a price around $1,600 USD equivalent is a reasonable working estimate, though European pricing in euros will vary. Picking up a 5080 at retail is already a solid move in the current GPU market. With only 500 units in circulation, limited to one region, and tied to a major Star Wars release, $2,000+ on secondary isn’t a stretch after launch hype builds.
The risk here is real though. European-only availability means U.S. buyers will be dealing with import costs and shipping from a forwarding service, which cuts into margins. There’s also no confirmed refund policy from MSI on this release, and retailer policies will vary by country. If you’re going in on this, make sure you know your exit before you buy, and factor in any import fees on top of your cost basis.
The card will be available starting May 22 through select European retailers and MSI’s E-Shop. MSI hasn’t named the retail partners yet.
