Gears of War: E-Day Pizza Cutters Just Restocked

Prince Street Pizza is the SoHo slice shop famous for its Sicilian squares and crispy pepperoni cups, now with locations across the US and in Toronto. To celebrate Gears of War: E-Day, which launches October 6 on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Game Pass, the shop and Xbox rolled out a full collab announced on Xbox Wire.

The headliner is the Prototype Lancer pizza cutter, which dropped on Prince Street’s webstore September 28. It’s a molded ABS replica of the Prototype Lancer frame with a food-grade stainless steel wheel sitting where the chainsaw would be. When you really, really need to make sure your pizza is cut the right way, this is the only tool for the job.

This new wave of preorders is identical to the pizza cutters that sold out last week; only the terms are changed. Every order is a preorder that may take up to 8 weeks to ship, which puts delivery around late November.

After the Gears of War Lancer pizza cutter sold out through Prince Street’s website, they were reselling for anywhere from $200 all the way up to $400, netting resellers more than $300 in profit on the high end.

Probably not. Those comps came from a handful of sales while the cutter was sold out with no restock in sight, which is a very different market from the one these preorders will ship into. A long preorder window suggests Prince Street is producing to order rather than working from a fixed run, so every cutter sold this week adds to the supply hitting eBay in November.

That doesn’t make this a bad play. The Lancer is the most recognizable weapon in one of Xbox’s flagship franchises, E-Day launches October 6, and late November delivery lands right as holiday shopping ramps up. Prices have room to fall and still leave profit. At $200, you’d net roughly $98 after eBay’s 13.6% fee, your $60 cost, and about $15 in shipping. Break-even sits around $87 before sales tax.

The real risk is that you can’t back out. If prices sink before your cutter ships, you’re holding it.
