Key Points

AMC restocked the Resident Evil medical courier popcorn bag at $25, with preorders open until October 14
The bags currently resell for $50 to $60 on eBay, though this restock could push prices lower
Preorders are final sale with a three-bag limit, and AMC says this is the final production run

Resident Evil’s organ cooler is back from the dead, but it’s bringing a catch with it. AMC reopened orders on the insulated medical courier bag today, and Cinemark’s online restock has already vanished. On paper, the math still works, since the bag has been reselling for roughly double what AMC is charging. The problem is timing. You’re paying now for a bag that won’t reach your door until the holidays, and every other reseller who orders today will be listing theirs at the same moment. This is a measured gamble, not a sure thing, so here’s what you need to decide whether it’s worth the risk.

Resident Evil Movie Popcorn Bag Details

The Resident Evil Medical Courier Popcorn Bucket is a zippered, insulated carrier modeled after the organ transport cooler carried by the medical courier protagonist of Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil reboot. It holds 200 ounces of popcorn and measures 9.5 x 6.25 x 6.75 inches, which is why we called it basically a lunchbox when it first dropped in September.

That first wave did well. We tracked nearly 100 eBay sales after Cinemark’s initial online drop, with early bags selling for as much as $80. Prices have cooled since the bags hit theaters, and today’s restock adds another round of supply.

Both AMC and Cinemark restocked their online stores in limited numbers today. Cinemark’s allotment is already gone, but AMC is taking preorders through October 14. Customers can buy up to three bags, and shipping is expected to begin in December. AMC has said this will be the final production run for the bag. The item is also excluded from promotional discounts, so the shop’s email signup coupon won’t apply, and purchases don’t earn AMC Stubs points.

This restock is expected to pull prices down in the short term, and preorder buyers won’t be able to sell until December. By then, a wave of restock bags will hit eBay at once. Holiday gifting could help absorb that supply, and a confirmed final run means no more floods after this, but neither guarantees today’s prices hold.

Bottom Line

AMC lists the bag as final sale: no returns, no refunds, and no cancellations once your preorder goes through. Your breakeven on eBay sits around $30 before shipping and tax. If prices slide below that by December, you’re holding a very nice lunchbox at a loss.

Our take: this is a small-stakes bet with a modest ceiling. Even maxing out at three bags keeps your exposure around $75 plus tax and shipping. If you’re a Resident Evil fan who’d happily keep one, the downside is easy to live with. If you’re buying purely to flip, go in knowing the margin could shrink or disappear by the time these ship.
