The Glass Bearista Cup retailed for $30 at Starbucks stores and sold out within hours at most locations nationwide
Current resale prices range from $150 to $300 on eBay and Mercari with multiple confirmed sales above $200
This was part of Starbucks’ 2025 holiday collection that launched Tuesday with limited quantities per store
Starbucks has rolled out their new line of 2025 seasonal drinkware, including new tumblers, cups, and one adorable glass bear cup that’s captured hearts and minds. And wallets. These absolutely flew off the shelves, and resellers are turning 10X profits from a single flip. Here’s what happened, and how you can still buy one to resell.
The Glass Bearista Cup is a 12-ounce bear-shaped glass tumbler that’s part of Starbucks’ 2025 holiday collection. Unlike typical seasonal tumblers, this one has that collectible aesthetic that drives both Starbucks fans and resellers to camp outside stores on launch day. Most locations reported selling out within hours of opening Tuesday morning. Social media exploded with photos of empty shelves and reseller hauls, which only amplified the FOMO.
@_awkwardkat It’s limited edition, limited quantity, low risk and honestly we are looking at a slam dunk homerun… so can I count on you to set that alarm and hit the three Starbucks we discussed as well as text me once you have eyes on the bear 🐻? Hello? #teddybear #starbucks #starbuckscup #teamworkmakesthedreamwork #starbies
Starbucks has a long history of merchandise selling out fast during the holidays. The color-changing cold cups from 2022 flipped for similar margins. The Stanley x Starbucks collaboration proved people will pay insane prices for limited drinkware with brand cachet. The Bearista Cup follows that exact playbook.
eBay is seeing the most action, with sold listings confirming prices between $150 and $300 depending on condition. Mint condition cups in original packaging are hitting that $300 mark consistently. Mercari shows similar pricing around $175 to $250, while Facebook Marketplace has local sales around $100 to $150 since buyers avoid shipping costs.
What’s interesting is the sustained demand. Usually when a Starbucks item sells out this fast, prices spike then drop as more inventory appears. That’s not happening here. Prices have held steady since Tuesday, suggesting real collector demand beyond just initial hype.
The bear design hits multiple collector demographics: Starbucks merchandise collectors, general drinkware collectors, and people who just think it’s cute and missed the retail drop. That broad appeal keeps competition high on the secondary market.
Obviously, there are a lot of people left hunting for these cups. From resellers to collectors, this is one of the most hyped Starbucks releases we’ve ever covered. If you don’t want to fork over $300 to a scalper, it might still be possible to find one at retail.
Your best bet would be targeting overlooked locations, especially in smaller markets. Starbucks in airports or grocery stores might still have some stock left over. Larger metro areas are completely cleaned out by this point, but you might have some luck if you live in a small city.
This isn’t something we recommend driving around hunting for. Definitely check the shelves the next time you make a trip and it’s worth asking the baristas if they have any left (brace for an eyeroll).
Finally, knockoffs are already appearing on Amazon. The product images are almost identical to Starbucks’ design, but they appear to be AI-generated. Who knows what you’ll actually get when they ship.
Long term, these could become a stable collectible if Starbucks doesn’t do a rerelease. The bear design has that timeless quality that makes it less date-specific than holiday items. Similar past releases have maintained 3x to 5x retail for years when kept truly limited.
The biggest risk is a surprise restock or Starbucks releasing a similar bear design later. They’ve been known to bring back popular items in slightly different colorways. Also, drinkware collecting is trendy but can shift fast.
If you copped these for retail, you’re sitting on solid profit right now, anywhere from 5x to 10x depending on your platform and patience. eBay is getting the highest prices but takes 13 percent fees. Mercari and Facebook Marketplace offer better margins if you can find buyers.
We’d probably make the sale right away rather than sitting on these closer to the holidays. You might be able to squeeze out some extra profits, but you could just as easily get burned on a surprise restock or waning demand.
