New Monster High Corpse Bride dolls drop tonight for $71
Presale listings are selling for upwards of $150
This is low-risk, low-effort flip
If you’re looking for your next flip, we’ve got one for you on a silver platter. Mattel will be dropping their newest Monster High Skullector doll tonight, based on Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride. These are proving extremely popular online, with many Monster High fans excited for the drop. Presale listings for the dolls are already blowing up on eBay, with many resellers expecting profits of two to three times their investment. Let’s take a look.
At it’s core, reselling is pretty straightforward. Buy something popular before it sells out, flip it for a profit to the folks that missed the early drop. It’s not complicated, but there’s a little more to it than that.
One factor that we think a lot of resellers overlook and undervalue is risk management. It’s obviously a lot of fun to score major profits on an item, but it can be just as lucrative to take advantage of multiple low-key, low-risk flips in a short period.
Today’s topic fits into that second category. Mattel recently revealed their latest Monster High Skullector doll, this time based on the titular character from Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride.
These are set to release at 12:01 AM PDT on August 8, so in about seven hours as of this publication exclusively through the Mattel Creations website. They are a Members-only item as, so you’ll need to purchase a $10 Fang Club membership if you’re interested in buying one.
Monster High Skullector Corpse Bride dolls cost $71, and are limited to one per customer. As a Skullector doll, they’re extremely limited and will likely sell out in a few minutes.
So why were we harping about risk management earlier? And what does that have to do with these dolls? Well, one of the trickier parts of reselling is finding items that will actually flip for a profit. There are all kinds of new products that drop every day, and most of them aren’t worth the effort.
These dolls are different. Ahead of their release, a thriving presale market has emerged for them. Right now, Monster High Skullector Corpse Bride dolls are reselling for over $150 ahead of their release.
For resellers, this is a major green flag. It shows that there’s strong consumer interest in these dolls, and an expectation that they will sell out fast and quickly resell.
But presales aren’t the only thing you should be looking for as a reseller. One of the biggest factors behind risk management is a good refund policy, and you should always check if a offers refunds before buying.
These dolls are covered under Mattel Creations’ 30-day refund policy, meaning you can return your unopened doll within 30 days of purchase for a full refund. Additionally, they are not marked as a “Final Sale” item, so Mattel’s standing refund policy will still apply.
With a healthy presale market and extensive refund policy, this is a zero-risk flip. If you’re looking for a little extra padding in your wallet, set an alarm for midnight.
