Key Points

  • The Masters’ tickets are distributed through semi-lottery system

  • Tickets are $125 to $150 and resell for $1,000, to $2,000

  • The lottery is open until June 20 and is free to enter

For the next three weeks, you have the chance to snag up to four tickets to the 2026 Masters. This is one of the most exclusive annual sporting events, with secondhand ticket sales regularly crossing the $1,000 mark. This a complete no-brainer for any reseller, as winning means major profits. Here’s what you need to know when it comes to buying 2026 Masters tickets.

Why are Masters Tickets So Expensive?

If you’re a golfer, you might have dreamed about the chance to see The Masters in person. Each year, a curated list of the world’s best are invited to play on one of golf’s greatest courses.

Augusta National is an outlier even among high-level courses. Membership is tightly controlled and by invitation-only; money might be a requirement but it’s no guarantee of entry. For most people, the only chance they’ll ever have to walk on Augusta National’s grounds is during The Masters.

And that’s no easy feat. Each year, The Masters opens “applications” for the next tournament. The process lasts around three weeks, traditionally starting on June 1. It’s not exactly a lottery, although the exact criteria for winning a ticket is left unpublished.

To put it briefly, attending The Masters is an incredibly rare opportunity for any golf fan, and represents a once-in-a-lifetime chance to visit (and shop at) Augusta National. The gift shop sees tens of thousands of customers every day with many spending over $1,000 at a time.

Consequently, it’s a goldmine for resellers. Whether you choose to hawk your ticket for a profit or flip the ultra-exclusive Augusta National merch, the yearly ticket lottery is always worth your attention.

How to Buy 2026 Masters Tickets

As we said, applications are open for 2026 Masters tickets. You can enter right now through The Masters’ website, although there are some important criteria to consider.

The Masters restricts entries to one per household. If several people try to enter using the same address, all of their applications will be rejected. Similarly, if one person tries to enter multiple applications with different addresses they will also be rejected. Make sure you coordinate with your family and roommates.

There are seven different days that you can apply for; three practice days and four tournament days, with the event running from Monday to Sunday. Applicants can apply for all seven days, but will only be selected for one.

You can buy up to four practice day tickets and up to two tournament day tickets. Practice day tickets start at $125 for Monday and Tuesday, and $150 for Wednesday. 2026 Masters tournament tickets cost $160.

In the (extremely unlikely) event that you’re selected to buy a ticket, you will be notified in July and officially be able to purchase your ticket.

It’s estimated that around 100,000 people attend The Masters each week, with upwards of two million applying for tickets. The math comes out to around a half a percent chance of snagging a ticket assuming fair odds, which they almost certainly aren’t. Cross your fingers.

What do Masters Tickets Resell for?

So, why bother entering if the odds are so long? For starters, it’s completely free to apply for Masters tickets, and the entire process can be done online in less than five minutes. This already makes it better than a lottery ticket.

Because of the popularity and exclusiveness of The Masters, secondhand tickets command an incredible premium. Augusta frowns on the resale of their tickets, but we still see thousands of them change hands every year, usually for ten, twenty, even forty times their face value.

And even though its early and the application window hasn’t closed, ticket aggregators like StubHub and TickPick are listing 2026 Masters tickets for sale. Practice round tickets are averaging around $2,000 while tournament days are listed for up to $5,000.

Again, you should be entering this lottery and encouraging everyone you know to submit an application. The chances of actually buying a ticket are very slim, but the risk/reward ratio is way too good for anyone to pass up.

And you don’t even have to flip your tickets to make a profit. Because the course is so exclusive, official August National merch is always in high demand. By making a trip to the gift shop during your visit, you can load up on stuff to resell after the tournament and more than pay off your ticket prices. That’s all for today. Remember, applications close on June 20, so don’t procrastinate. Good luck, and make sure you subscribe to our newsletter for the latest flips and tricks.
