New Pokemon 151 Booster Bundles dropped last week
They retail for $27 and contain six booster packs
Resellers are flipping them for up to $80
On February 28, retailers across the country and online started selling 6 pack Booster Bundles of Pokemon 151. Featuring the original tradeable monsters from 1996, these were enormously popular with players, collectors, and especially resellers. The packs quickly sold out at retail, and it didn’t take long for to be relisted on sites like eBay and StockX at a significant markup. Let’s get into it.
It’s been a long time since Pokemon first launched in 1996, and there have been a lot of new additions to the franchise. New games, new movies, and of course, new Pokemon.
But there’s a significant proportion of fans that insist the original 151 were the best. Like any franchise that’s been around as long as Pokemon, nostalgia and rose-tinted glasses are popular within the community.
And the Pokemon Company is always willing to cash in on their fan’s biases. Recent games like Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee have had a distinct Gen 1 slant, and now they’ve produced an entirely new version of the entirely old cast of the 151 original Pokemon.
These are an expansion to the current Scarlet and Violet trading cards, featuring new art and EX variations of classic Pokemon like Blastoise and Charizard.
Pokemon 151 Booster Bundles were available at stores and online for $27. Each bundle contained six packs with ten cards each. They didn’t last long though, and you can probably guess where they ended up.
Within hours of these packs going live online we started to see them be listed for sale on eBay. Things started out a little slow, but by the weekend we saw prices rise significantly and resellers lock in major profits.
Right now, Pokemon 151 Booster Bundles are reselling for around $60 to $70 at a time. Like we said, things started slow but the last 24 hours have seen a ton of sales at this price point.
That might seem modest on its face, but this drop was an opportunity for resellers to double their money on every bundle sold. If you managed to snag a bunch, the money stacked up fast.
And that’s pretty much the whole story. There are all kinds of flips that crop up every single day, and plenty of resellers taking advantage of them. If you’re ready to get in on that action, maybe it’s time that you join RC Elite.
Of course, if watching from the sidelines is more your thing you can always subscribe to our newsletter and stay informed about what’s cooking. That’s almost as fun as selling the stuff yourself, right?
