A very limited number of signed “Fruitcake” vinyl were sold on Friday
They were usually sold for under $30
Resellers have flipped them for up to $450 early on
Just ahead of the holidays, Sabrina Carpenter signed a limited number of “Fruitcake” vinyl records for her fans. These were distributed to select record stores in the Northeast, and generated tons of hype before the weekend. They sold out fast, of course, and more than a few were picked up by vinyl resellers. We’ve been watching them flip all weekend long, and the profits are incredible. Let’s take a look.
You’re familiar with Sabrina Carpenter right? “Espresso” was one of the most overplayed songs of the summer, and there’s a good chance you can recognize the chorus even if you don’t understand the lyrics.
She’s been on quite a tear lately, and is well on her way to full-scale superstardom. We covered her most recent release, “Short n’ Sweet”, earlier this year, and discovered her fans have no issues paying hundreds of dollars for the right record.
On Friday, a limited reissue of her 2023 album “Fruitcake” dropped. These were autographed by Sabrina Carpenter, and intended as a Christmas gift for a Christmas-themed album.

The only way to get a signed “Fruitcake” vinyl was in person, at one of a handful of record shops that received an allocation.
One of these was Looney Tunes Record Shop in New York. According to them, they received just 150 copies. Newbury’s Comics also claimed that all of their Northeast stores would be selling signed records, but the per-store allocation was probably much lower.
These records were sold for under $30 in most cases. This sale was really more of a promotion for Carpenter and a way for her fans (or vinyl flippers) to get something very cool at a good price.
As you can probably imagine, $30 is quite a bit less than what these records were actually worth. As Carpenter’s music has blown up in popularity, she’s gained thousands of fans willing to pay just about anything to get their hands on one of these records.
Right now, signed “Fruitcake” vinyl records are reselling for about $300 with decent volume. eBay has recorded around 50 sales since Friday, with early listings selling for more than $500 at a time.
It does seem like quite a few of these got into the hands of resellers, which will always bring prices down a bit. Still, at $300 a pop, anyone that managed to flip theirs stood to multiply their money by ten or more.
That’s good enough for us. We’re in that time of the year where a little extra pocket money can really help, so allow us to thank Sabrina Carpenter and her fans for this opportunity.
