AMC and Regal are both selling them
Loungefly sold their Epcot-exclusive Figment backpacks online this week
They sold out quickly at $88 retail
Within hours they started flipping for $140+
At first glance, you might not recognize the face on these backpacks. Figment is a peculiar Disney character. While most other park attractions are based on existing characters, Figment was first designed as part of the Imagination Pavilion at Epcot, and has grown into a beloved character.
A Figment movie is in the works, and now he’s been made into a Loungefly backpack. If you’re not in the know, Loungefly is a an accessories manufacturer owned by Funko. They’re well known for their backpacks especially, which are highly detailed and have an extensive collector’s culture built up around them.
Figment Loungefly backpacks feature a design based on the purple dragon, with his smiling face front and center. The dragon’s wings and horns jut out from the pack to create a 3D appearance, and a large Loungefly badge is featured proudly.
Inside the pack, the fabric lining depicts an alternating cartoon of Figment in a traditional Disney style. All together, it’s a fun and highly desirable bag for any Disney fan or Loungefly collector, and there’s quite a big crossover between those groups.
Loungefly Figment backpacks were first sold earlier this year exclusively through gift shops at Epcot, but this week marks their online debut. Figment Loungefly backpacks were available for sale through ShopDisney for $88, which is in line with other backpacks from the company.
After selling out at ShopDisney, many of the fans who missed out would have little problem turning to a reseller. Well, they would complain about it, sure, but the whole “protest with your wallet” thing never seems to apply in these situations.
Right now, a Figment Loungefly backpack is reselling for around $140. Prior to the online release of these bags, they were trading hands for close to $200, but it makes sense the increase in supply would bring prices down a bit.
For the resellers who got in on this sale, they’re walking away with plenty of extra spending money. These backpacks were an extremely easy flip, and most people were able to turn around and sell theirs the same day.
Missed these? RC Elite members didn’t. These bags were posted ahead of their release, and it was simply a matter of being ready with your wallet if you wanted one. 24 hours later, those members were able to double their money on every bag they bought.
