  • Ninja’s countertop ice cream makers are blowing up on TikTok

  • They retail between $170 and $250, and resell for $250 to $500

  • The product’s popularity is owed to the weather and social media

It’s hot. That’s not particularly out of the ordinary for summer, but still, there’s no ignoring the heat. There are a variety of ways to stay cool, from hanging out at a pool, keeping in the shade, or our personal favorite, cranking the AC and hiding from the sun until September. Of course, there’s also a far more fun and fattening method: eating ice cream. Now you can bring the fun of the ice cream parlor to your kitchen with the Ninja CREAMi ice cream maker, if you can find one that is. These devices are proving so popular that stores are struggling to keep them on shelves, and they resell for well over MSRP.

How does the Ninja CREAMi work?

If you’ve ever dreamed of having a nonstop supply of ice cream available to you morning, noon, and night, congratulations; we’re living in the future. The Ninja CREAMi is an all-in-one countertop ice cream maker that produce gourmet quality frozen treats with the push of the button.

Not only can the CREAMi make ice cream, but it can also puree basically anything into a frozen dessert. Fruits, candy, nuts, bacon bits; it’s up to you to make your ice cream as delicious or disgusting as you choose.

How to use the Ninja CREAMi

The process is simple. Just load in your (frozen) ingredients of choice, select your consistency, and hit the switch. Ninja’s “Creamify” technology uses powerful motors and a beefy blade to absolutely pulverize whatever you throw at it, transforming it into dessert in the process.

Delicious ice cream at the touch of a button? This kind of product is obviously appealing to kids and adults with poor impulse control, which explains why it blew up on TikTok. The Ninja CREAMi has been everywhere on the social media platform lately, with paid and unpaid influencers eagerly shilling the device.

And when millions of people all see a cool product, the same thing always happens. Shortly after going viral on TikTok, Ninja CREAMi ice cream makers sold out from both Ninja’s site and from retailers. Now, resellers are making tons of profit by reselling the ice cream makers.

There are several different models of Ninja CREAMi. While they all offer the same basic functionality, deluxe models offer additional features like the ability to make Italian ice. Prices and availability for models vary, but all of them are reselling right now for more than they cost at retail.

Here’s a breakdown of the various Ninja CREAMi models and what they sell for.

Ninja CREAMi Breeze NC101/NC100

This is the entry level model of the Ninja CREAMi, first released on July 13. The Ninja CREAMi Breeze costs $170, although coupons can bring it down to $143. The CREAMi Breeze offers basic ice cream making functionality, and is essentially a stripped down version of the more robust models in an effort to meet demand.

Resellers are listing their Ninja CREAMi Breeze 7-in-1 ice cream makers for $250. Despite offering more features than the previous model, Ninja CREAMi NC201 models resell for the same price.

Ninja CREAMi Deluxe NC501

This is the most expensive and feature complete version of the Ninja CREAMi. Users can create a wide variety of frozen treats, from ice cream to blended coffee, and its blending bowl is 50 percent larger than the previous models. The Ninja CREAMi Deluxe sells for $250 from Ninja’s site.

Aftermarket prices for this model are all over the place. The average price for a Ninja CREAMi Deluxe is somewhere around $350, with many sales above and below this number. Some have even sold for north of $500.

Where to buy a Ninja CREAMi ice cream maker

You can buy a Ninja CREAMi directly from Ninja’s website. The CREAMi NC101, NC201, and NC501 models are all currently sold out due to demand. It’s unknown when the next Ninja CREAMi restock will take place, but it shouldn’t be too long.

Additionally, you can also buy a Ninja CREAMi from major retailers like Walmart, Target and Kroger. Target sells an exclusive version of the ice cream maker, the Ninja CREAMi NC301, although there are no major differences between it and other models.

All in all, the Ninja CREAMi is a great example of a product getting swept up by a social media frenzy. These ice cream makers came just in time for summer, and are a fun blend of function and luxury. While we’re not too surprised by the aftermarket, we just have to hope it sticks around a little longer.
