AMC and Regal are both selling them
Mattel’s Mega Construx restocked the Falcon Sweep model last week
Sets retailed for $70 and sold out within four hours
They are now flipping for $120, but resold for $150 immediately after the sale
It’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas, and we have the perfect gift for the Halo-lover in your life. Mattel’s Mega brand produced a Mega Construx Falcon set based on the characters from Halo: Reach. In fact, the 748 piece set proved so popular that it has sold out repeatedly at retail. Resellers who managed to score a set now have a great opportunity on their hands. Flipping this set on the aftermarket is an easy way to double anyone’s money.
If the fall of Reach still weighs heavy on you, we’ve got something to take your mind off of it. The Halo: Reach Falcon Sweep set is a model of a UNSC Falcon helicopter from Halo, and includes the entire Noble Fireteam as miniatures.
Mega Bloks, under Mattel owns the rights to produce Halo merchandise. This set is part of the Mega Construx line, which are LEGO-compatible bricks, and usually fairly complex and detailed sets. The Falcon Sweep Mega Construx set includes 748 pieces, primarily featuring a Falcon, the six members of Noble, and some additional details.
It’s worth noting this is not the only Falcon model Mega has produced. At least two other versions of the Falcon have been sold, including one Reach themed one. The Falcon Sweep model is notable because it includes the main characters from Halo: Reach, and also because this one is actually in production right now.
The Mega Construx Falcon Sweep restocked on August 28 through the Mattel Creations website. At the time it was unclear how many sets were loaded, but in the end it seems like a fairly limited restock. Falcon Sweep Mega Construx sets were sold out in around four hours.
And many of those sets would end up in the hands of resellers. People were hyped for these sets, and while a four hour sell-out might not sound lightning quick compared to other sales, it’s still a strong indication of the demand around Mega Construx sets and the Halo IP.
Now that the sets are officially sold out, the only way to pick one up is on the aftermarket. Resellers that were tipped off about the product now had an easy way to make a little money by selling the preorder.
Right now, Halo Mega Construx Falcon Sweep set is reselling for around $120. After buying it from Mattel for $70, that represents a profit of about $50. Not at all bad considering how easy of a sale this was. The only hard part was hearing about it ahead of time.
