Resell Calendar’s Raffle for Retail presents an opportunity for anyone on the internet to buy some of the most hyped items to resell at their original retail prices. If your entry is picked, you’ll be able to buy an item that resells for significantly more than you paid. Sounds good? Let’s check out what was up for grabs.

Pokémon Shining Legends boxes

When these booster packs hit shelves in 2017, the new wave of Pokemon frenzy was just beginning to spin up. The release of Pokemon GO only a year earlier had spurred interest in the franchise, and prices for Pokemon trading cards had begun to rise.

Shining Legends remained a popular and fairly common booster pack among collectors until 2020, when it was discovered that only a limited amount of stock remained among retailers. RC was the first to bring this opportunity to the attention of resellers, and it didn’t take long before that remaining stock was gobbled up.

After retailers’ supplies were bought up by resellers, the value of these Pokemon booster packs shot up. It didn’t take long before the expected resell price reached $100 or more. Not at all bad considering they sold for just $16 in stores.

Now, we’re presenting an opportunity to turn back time and buy a sealed pack of these cards with no markup. The MewTwo, Pikachu, and Marshadow Shining Legends packs were all available during the raffle.

Entries opened up in May for these cards. It was free to enter, and a winning entry meant a chance to buy a pack at their original retail price.

For collectors, this was a unique opportunity to pick up one of these cards at a great price, while resellers will likely prefer to flip the packs for much, much more than they paid. It’s up to them to choose what they’ll do with their winnings; we just want to spread a little joy this May.
