It’s that time of the month again, where TikTok and Twitter hype up another cheap product until it resells. This time it’s these Fishbowl Cups with matching straw. You can find them for sale at Target locations across the U.S., although the recent viral trend has them selling out. Next time you’re at Target, make sure you check if they’re in stock. There’s nothing wrong with turning pocket money into spending money, right?

What is the Target Fishbowl Cup?

Well, it’s a fishbowl shaped drinking glass. It has a screw top to fit a lid, and comes with a plastic straw with a fish on it. That’s pretty much it. It’s pretty neat, and dishwasher safe too.

This was an otherwise unremarkable item until TikTok got their hands on it. Since May 15, the #fishbowlcup hashtag on TikTok has racked up six million views. People seem to be genuinely smitten by the thing.

Yeah, the surge in demand is probably 50/50 between moms buying this for their kids and other moms buying it to get drunk. Perfectly balanced.

Regardless of who’s buying it or why, the Target Fishbowl Cups have sold out everywhere. Target doesn’t list these online, so the only way to score one is in person. When they are in stock, they’re usually right in front of the door. Check for them near other seasonal items. The Target Fishbowl Cup costs $5 if you can find one for sale.

Target Fishbowl Cups are reselling

Following this demand, it’s only natural that an aftermarket for the Fishbowl Cups has emerged. Since they first picked up steam on May 15, eBay has recorded around 40 sales for the cups.

For most sales, the Target Fishbowl Cup resells for around $30. Considering you can buy one for $5 at retail, it’s a nice way to offset the rapidly-inflating costs of grocery buying. Additionally, there are a handful of sales for the Fishbowl cups at $100. We don’t know who or why is buying them for this much, but it’s worth noting.

Make sure you check for one of these cups next time you’re at Target. It’s unclear how frequently they restock, so it’s mainly up to luck. If you happen to find one in stock, don’t hesitate to buy. There have been multiple sales a day for these, so the demand is there. Don’t turn down an opportunity to make a quick $20.
