The Yankees Might've Leaked Bandai Namco's Naruto TCG

The Yankees have confirmed Naruto Night at Yankee Stadium for September 8 against the Colorado Rockies. The headlining giveaway: an exclusive Naruto Yankee Stadium card, distributed to the first 18,000 fans through the gates.

This promotion has been in the works for months now after being first announced in May. It’s only coming under new scrutiny in the last few days with Bandai Namco teasing a new TCG. Many collectors have honed in Naruto as the obvious choice as the IP still hasn’t partnered with a major trading card brand.

The September giveaway is in collaboration with NYC-based TCG community Anime Social Nexus, who stated on Instagram that the Naruto cards scheduled to be given away in September are “official”. This language has further incited collector interest.

Let’s talk about the opportunity here. If this card is tied to a brand new Bandai Naruto TCG, you’re looking at a promo card for what could become one of the biggest TCGs to launch in years. Naruto has one of the most dedicated fanbases in all of anime. The IP has been conspicuously absent from the major TCG landscape, and demand for a quality Naruto card game has been building for a long time.

The Dodgers set the template for what MLB anime promo cards can do. The 2025 Dodgers One Piece Night gave away a Monkey D. Luffy promo card to roughly 36,000 fans. After the game, raw copies were selling around $350. Within months, highly graded examples were trading at $1,500 and above.

The Yankees Naruto card will be distributed to only 18,000 fans — roughly half the quantity of last year’s Dodgers Luffy card. If demand is anywhere close to comparable, the supply difference alone should push prices higher. Get there early. The 18,000-card limit is firm. A stadium that seats over 47,000 people means nearly two-thirds of attendees could walk away empty-handed. This is not a casual “show up whenever” situation.

Tickets for the game are on sale right now for under $40. Based on what we’ve seen from the Dodgers’ promo cards, this promotion will pay for your ticket and then some.

Valid question. Different MLB stadiums have different policies when it comes to collecting multiple giveaways, even if you present the appropriate number of tickets.

The Yankees’ policy reads: “Guests are eligible for only one item per valid same-day game ticket, per valid entry.” This would seem to indicate that a single fan that presents multiple tickets should be eligible to receive a matching number of promo items, but the truth is murkier.

Some Reddit reports indicate that Yankee Stadium staff will request single fans presenting multiple tickets to requeue and enter through a different gate to receive their additional promo items. With how limited this giveaway is, there’s almost no chance of securing more than one card if you have to leave and reenter the stadium. Our recommendation is to try and coordinate with friends and family to make sure you have a matching body with each ticket scanned in.

MLB anime nights are becoming a lucrative niche for resellers, and the Dodgers deserve most of the credit for proving the model. The 2026 Dodgers One Piece Night is confirmed for July 2, giving West Coast resellers another shot at a limited promo card before the Yankees event in September. The Bandai reveal tomorrow could change the equation here. If it’s Naruto, the Yankees card goes from interesting to potentially very significant. If it’s something else entirely, this is still a Naruto giveaway tied to a popular IP with a proven resell track record from comparable events. Either way, the opportunity is real. The certainty just depends on what Bandai announces in the next 24 hours.
