Supreme Maison Margiela Wallets Are Flipping for 3X Retail

Supreme’s new collaboration with Maison Margiela dropped yesterday, and resellers are having a lot of fun. We’ve got everything you’d expect, branded hoodies, branded T-shirts, branded T-shirts ON branded T-shirts! Between the ordinary, there’s also some more eclectic and popular choices including a wig. What we’re looking at today is a limited edition wallet. Supreme kids are paying out the nose for these, and the profit margins are looking pretty damn good. Let’s dive in.

Supreme MM6 Maison Margiela Drop

Ah yes, another month, another Supreme collaboration. They’ve been going strong for decades now, and while the Supreme meme is still very much around, there are also plenty of earnest fans.

And while making fun of the brand is always fun, we’ll give them credit where it’s due. We’ve covered their recent collections with items like the Supreme Santoku Knife and collector’s pin drop, and we have to say it does seem like they’re having a lot of fun over there.

So what dropped this week? Well, Supreme paired up with French fashion house Maison Margiela to produce a whole line of branded merch. The designs are pretty cool, and both brands seem to playing around with a lot of new ideas. Our personal favorite is this T-shirt design, which features a Supreme box logo T-shirt, on the T-shirt

Everything is pretty limited, and pretty expensive. One of the most talked about items in the Supreme Maison Margiela collection is a blonde wig. These were $1,398, and in some cases limited to one per location.

And one of the more lowkey items was this leather wallet. The outside layer is made to look like a receipt from Supreme’s New York store, and it’s secured to the wallet with an elastic strap.

These were $228 from Maison Margiela’s site. Like everything else, it sold out fast. While these pretty simple, they actually ended up as one of the most popular items from the Supreme Maison Margiela collection.

Now those that missed out are faced with a quandary. Do they chalk up their losses and try again next time? Or do they buy it for triple the price from a scalper so they can post it on Instagram?

Supreme Maison Margiela Wallet Resells

Can you guess what most of them chose? By now the trend should be pretty obvious. New collection drops, Supreme fans complain about it, everything sells out, Supreme fans flock to StockX.

Right now, the Supreme Maison Margiela wallets are reselling for upwards of $700. StockX is kind of all over the place right now, but lots of sales have already come through.

As you can see, prices quickly rose through release day. We started out at $400, and quickly rose to nearly $800 before the end of the day.

Supreme prices do tend to wander around a bit though, so we’ll be keeping a close eye on the market. What’s hot this week might be forgotten by the next, or these might end up as the must-have item for a Supreme kid by the end of the year.
