After going viral last year, Lenox is reproducing their iconic village spice jars
These were originally produced decades ago, and become very collectable
The collection launches next year for $285
It’s time to get kitschy. Lenox confirmed last month that they will be restarting production of their iconic collection of spice village shakers. These were originally produced in the 80s, and have become highly collectable kitchen pieces over the last few decades. They went viral last year, and entire sets began reselling for upwards of $1,000. With new sets on the way soon, collectors and resellers will have a new opportunity to buy them. Let’s dig in.
There’s a lot of ways to sell a product, but nostalgia is one of the best. If you’re old enough or have an eye for collectable kitchenware, you probably recognize these Lenox spice jars.
Shaped like little houses, there are 24 different shakers that make up an entire spice village. They’re made from fine porcelain and hand-painted with exquisite detail. Certain jars feature 24 karat gold accents as well.

These were originally produced by Lenox in the 1980s. Like many items from that decade, they quickly fell out of style and mostly forgotten about, only to be rediscovered by Zoomers in the social media age.
Lenox Spice Village jars hit their all-time high popularity last year, when thrift and vintage TikTokers began covering the set. Collectors have had to painstakingly piece together entire sets jar by jar, and they’ve become incredibly valuable and hard to find.
But Lenox is changing that, and soon. Last month they announced they would be reproducing the entire 24 jar set. Everything is the same as when they were first sold in the 80s; the intricate detailing, high quality materials, and even the price. Yes, Lenox will be selling this new collection for $15 a jar, just as they did in 1989.
If you’re excited for this release, we’ve got some bad news. While Lenox is bringing their Spice Village jars back, they won’t be available next year. July 2025, to be exact.
You can sign up on their waiting list right now to stay updated, and preorders for the sets are open right now. You can buy the entire 24 jar collection for $285, and expect to receive it next summer.
Whether you’re a collector or a reseller, this re-release is worth paying attention to. Because of the vintage jars’ newfound popularity, they’ve exploded in value and have become extremely lucrative for thrifters.
A single Lenox spice jar in good condition can resell for $50 to $100, while full sets have gone for as much as $2,000 at a time. These are some of the luckiest – and most profitable – items you can find in a thrift store.
Of course, Lenox announcing that they’re restarting production will be a major shock to the market. Sales will likely slow down for the immediate moment as collectors begin considering their options. Why pay a reseller $2,000 when you can get it from Lenox for under $300?
Chances are prices on vintage sets will come down for a time, but they will always be collectable and therefore valuable. It’s possible the reproductions will actually bolster their value in the long run.
It’s also worth noting that the new Lenox Spice Village jars may become collectable as well. With a year’s worth of preorders, Lenox will likely be making quite a few of these jars, but is also means this new production run will be a one-time-only event. Once they’re gone, they’re gone. Probably.
And that’s just the kind of product resellers thrive on. Since this product is so far out still there’s not much more we can say right now. If Lenox comes back with additional details, especially regarding production numbers, expect to hear an update from us.
Until then, subscribe to our newsletter to stay looped in on everything worth reselling. It’s a big world out there, and there’s plenty of stuff out there worth flipping.
