Defcon linked with Half Face Blades for a new line of products
The most hype were their “Crow” folding knives priced at $600
They sold out in under a minute
Looking for something small and hard to fiddle with in your pocket? As long as you don’t sharp edges, Defcon and Half Face Blades have got you covered with an exclusive line of highly collectable pocketknives. They just dropped their “Crow” Folder yesterday that sold out in record time. It won’t be long before these knives reappear on eBay for much, much more than they retailed for. Let’s take a closer look.
First, let’s meet the principals. Defcon Group is a self-described “American Company” that produces a range of merch mostly revolving around neo-Macho, military LARP-adjacent imagery. If you want clothes or patches for your next badass airsoft photoshoot, check them out.
Half Face Blades is a respected knife and tool manufacturer founded by a former Navy Seal. They offer a wide range of high-quality steel knives in a variety of styles and fits. Also, hot sauce.
Earlier this week, Defcon and HFB announced their first collaboration: the Crow Folder Knife. These are machined from high quality CPM S45VN steel with aluminum handles and an edgy black coating. The blades featuring engravings of Defcon and HFB’s logos on each side.
And if you want your toys to be really, really special, you’ll like this knife. Defcon limited their Crow Folder knife to just 300 units, with each one individually numbered on the blade.
With a knife this nice, you’ll need to find somewhere to display it, and definitely never, ever use it. You wouldn’t want to scratch that nice finish.
Considering that Defcon sold their HFB Crow Folder Knives for $600, we’re guessing most buyers will never, ever use their knives. That might seem steep for a knife, but it didn’t stop them from selling out in under a minute.
Can you guess what will happen next? These are a pretty niche item and we haven’t seen any secondhand sales (yet), but they’ll be on the way soon.
Defcon is a darling brand for tough guys with money to spend, and we’ve seen many of their past drops resell for triple digit profits. Their collaborations with Vans and Shoyoroll have been exceptionally successful.
And believe us, there’s a market for collectable knives. We’ve covered several past drops from big names like Leatherman and Benchmade, and watched as eBay sales rolled in for more than $1,000 at a time.
It’s not at all unreasonable to expect these knives to do just as well, and maybe even better. With just 300 made, there’s bound to be a few dweebs out there willing to shell out for something fancy to stick in their rig.
We’ll just have to keep our eyes on the market for them. In the meantime, make sure you subscribe to our newsletter if you want to stay updated on everything else that’s reselling. We’ve got miniature sculptures, signed skateboards, VR headsets, even Capri Sun pouches. If it flips for a profit, we’re there.
