These were one of the most lucrative flips of 2023
Cady drops October 23 at 8am PDT exclusively on Bratz.com for $70
Original Cady flipped for $300+ on eBay within days of last year’s release
Limit two per customer, hits major retailers October 24
Remember when the original Cady Heron doll sold out in minutes last October and resellers walked away with $200+ profit per unit? Well, she’s back in Spring Fling form, and if history repeats, tomorrow’s drop is about to get chaotic.
The Spring Fling Cady comes with her iconic Mathlete competition look featuring the blue-and-yellow North Shore varsity jacket with leather sleeves, khakis, and Converse-style sneakers. Plus she’s got the Spring Fling crown and gold medal because of course she does. The second outfit is her Plastic era blue sweater, plaid mini skirt, and pink heels from those hallway scenes.
Both looks are movie-accurate with accessories including two pairs of shoes, the tiara, and that mathlete medal. She comes in yearbook-style packaging with a certificate of authenticity, doll stand, and exclusive poster if you cop directly from Bratz’ website.
When we covered the first Cady drop last October, the numbers were wild. She retailed for $60, sold out almost immediately, and hit eBay for $300+ within 24 hours. Resellers who managed to secure one cleared $200 profit after fees and shipping.
That wasn’t just launch day hype either. The original Cady maintained strong secondary market prices for months, with sold listings consistently in the $150-200 range even after the initial frenzy died down. Bratz quicky followed up with two more popular Mean Girls releases, making this one of their most popular and profitable collaborations.
MGA’s Bratz Creative Director literally called the first collab “an immediate sensation,” and the resale data backs that up. These dolls proved the nostalgia market for both Bratz and Mean Girls runs deep, and people will absolutely pay premium prices for quality crossover collectibles.
This is wave two of the Mean Girls collab, featuring Spring Fling versions of the main characters. Regina already dropped October 9, Janis hit October 16, and Cady closes out the staggered release on October 23. The spacing creates individual hype cycles for each character instead of one massive drop day.
You could argue that it’s a thinly veiled attempt to cash in on one of last year’s biggest releases, and we’d probably agree. The Spring Fling series has performed fairly weakly, with Regina’s Spring Fling version flipping for a middling $100 to $120.
But Cady has historically been the most popular Bratz X Mean Girls doll, with the original drop selling out near-instantly and resellers securing triple digit profits. If any of these dolls will fly, it’s this one.
Cady launches Thursday October 23 at 8am PDT on Bratz.com with a two-doll purchase limit. You need to be ready at drop time because these will move fast. Have your account created, payment info saved, and be logged in early
MGA offered 30-day refunds on wave one, which basically eliminated downside risk. If that policy continues for Spring Fling, you can cop with confidence knowing you can return unsold inventory if the market doesn’t cooperate. Always confirm refund terms at checkout though.
Also consider that we’re approaching holiday shopping season. Parents and gift-givers looking for Mean Girls merch will absolutely buy these for actual kids, not just adult collectors. That expands the addressable market beyond the typical Bratz collector base.
If you missed the original Cady, this is your chance to get in on big profits. The combination of proven demand, holiday timing, and the protagonist factor suggests this is one of the safer doll flips available right now.
Worst case with refund policy: you return unsold inventory and lose 15 minutes of your Thursday morning. Best case: you clear $100+ per doll with minimal effort. The risk-reward on that math is pretty straightforward.
Just don’t sleep in. Last year when the original Cady dropped, checkout queues crashed the site and plenty of ready resellers still struck out. Have backup devices, multiple browsers open, and be prepared for technical difficulties.
