The long wait is almost over, and another long wait is about to begin. After months of self-inflicted pumpfaking, the GTA 6 community will finally have their chance to put in preorders for the game before it launches in November. Let’s go over everything we know so far, what Rockstar has confirmed, and what’s still left unknown.

GTA 6 Preorder Details

Unless you’ve been living under a rock on Mars, you should know that Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to release November 19, 2026. This comes after multiple delays that had the game pushed back from 2025, to May, to the fall.

Gamers and resellers have been waiting for any further confirmation that GTA 6 would be sticking to this date. Rockstar has slightly deviated from their traditional marketing timeline, and we were expecting to receive a third trailer and preorders last month.

Well, we still don’t have a trailer, but we do have a likely date for it. This morning, Rockstar confirmed that GTA 6 preorders would be opening June 25, and also showed off the official cover art.

It’s extremely likely that Rockstar will be dropping trailer 3 for GTA 6 on the same date. Then again, they’ve already thrown us enough curveballs that the trailer may release sooner.

GTA 6 Preorder Prices

Rockstar has not confirmed retail pricing for GTA 6 in any way. For years, consumer analysts have been predicting that Rockstar would leverage this title to usher in a new era of $100 games. We’ll have to wait until the 25th to find out.

What can we say for certain? GTA 6 will almost definitely retail for at least $80. Additionally, we are expecting at least two tiers of premium upgrades; probably an all-digital deluxe edition with extra in-game goodies and physical collector’s edition, but this has not been confirmed officially. GTA 6 Collector's Editions Preorder Details

Since Rockstar has not officially confirmed a collector’s edition for Grand Theft Auto 6 we can’t officially confirm that preorders for it will open at the same time.

However, based on Rockstar’s last release, Red Dead Redemption 2, we expect that GTA 6 Collector’s Editions will be revealed and go up for preorder along with standard editions on June 25.

Our advice? There’s no need to rush when that preorder button goes from gray to green. Rockstar knows how big this game is, and you can bet your ass that they’ll be shoveling out enough GTA 6 Collector’s Editions to meet the demand. It’s very unlikely that preorders will sell out instantly, and if they do, they’ll restock before launch.

Instead, we recommend patience and a careful look at everything Rockstar is offering before placing an order. For RDR2, Rockstar split the most popular physical collectibles across multiple bundles. They may repeat the pattern for their biggest cash cow of the millennium.

We learned this lesson with Starfield. Hype for this game was at intergalactic levels leading up to release, and Bethesda knew it. They cashed in by opening preorders for Starfield Collector’s Editions months in advance, and kept them right up until the game’s release. After launch, resellers found a market swamped with listings and struggled to turn a profit.

But what most collectors and resellers missed were the Starfield Explorer’s Bundles. These were small statues featuring the character Vasco, sold separately from the collector’s edition. Limited to just 800 units, they became extremely desirable post-launch, and resellers were able to flip them for up to $1,000.

We recommend hunting for similar opportunities in the Rockstar Warehouse when preorders go live, and in the months preceding launch. We’re not saying GTA 6 Collector’s Editions won’t be lucrative flips, but finding something slightly off the beaten path will tip the odds for profit in your favor.
