Dunkin’ is giving away a free branded tote bag with the purchase of a half dozen donuts on June 1
Each participating location will only have 20 totes available, so expect them to sell out fast
A half dozen donuts runs $7 to $10 depending on location
Dunkin’ has been on a serious merch run lately, and Monday’s tote bag giveaway is the latest chapter. In honor of National Donut Day week, the chain is handing out free branded totes at participating locations while supplies last. With only 20 per store, “while supplies last” is doing a lot of heavy lifting there. If Dunkin’s recent limited merch drops are any guide, these bags are going to disappear fast and move on the secondary market even faster. Get to your local Dunkin’ early if you want one.
On Monday, June 1, Dunkin’ will give away one free tote bag per qualifying purchase of a half dozen donuts or more. The bags come in Dunkin’s signature orange and pink and are branded with the Dunkin’ logo. No app required, no special coupon, just buy six donuts and ask for the bag while they last.
The totes are pretty similar to Trader Joe’s ultra-viral design, and we’ve tracked them reselling for up to $20 at a time. This flip (probably) won’t make you rich, but it will more than offset the cost of your morning coffee.
A few things to keep in mind: the offer is not available on delivery platforms, and it cannot be combined with other offers or coupons. You have to be in-store. Supply is capped at 20 units per participating location, and not every Dunkin’ is participating, so it’s worth calling ahead before you make a dedicated trip.
Dunkin’ branded merch has quietly built a real collector base over the past couple of years. We covered their Dunkings tracksuits when they were reselling for hundreds, and their branded iced coffee gloves followed a similar pattern. Free giveaway items with a low entry cost and hard supply caps tend to punch above their weight on eBay, especially when the brand has a proven fan base willing to pay for memorabilia they missed out on.
This tote won’t hit tracksuit numbers, but a solid flip of $10 to $30 over the cost of the donuts is realistic based on comparable branded tote performance. Your actual entry cost is the donuts, which you can eat or give away, so the downside is pretty limited. There’s no “final sale” risk on a free item.
While you’re planning your Dunkin’ merch strategy, mark June 15 on your calendar. In honor of Father’s Day, Dunkin’ will be releasing a branded Taylormade Munchkins Golf Box: a $4 purchase of a 3-count Munchkins that comes with a free golf ball in a branded box featuring Dunkin’ golf-themed packaging.
Each store is expected to have only 24 available, so the same early-arrival strategy applies. Golf branded fast food merch is a niche but enthusiastic collector segment, and the Father’s Day tie-in gives this one real gifting appeal on the secondary market.
Get to your Dunkin’ as early as possible on Monday morning. With only 20 totes per location, the serious stragglers won’t see one.
