Key Points

  • The G-SHOCK Nano DWN-5600 retails for ¥14,300 (roughly $110) and releases November 8 in Japan, US release date unconfirmed

  • Casio’s previous ring watch consistently flipped for $350 to $400 on eBay after selling out immediately at $120 retail

  • This new model is a true G-SHOCK with shock resistance and 200-meter water resistance, making it more collectible than its steel predecessor

Get ready for this one. Casio’s shrinking down the iconic G-SHOCK DW-5600 to fit on your finger. The G-SHOCK Nano DWN-5600 launches November 8 in Japan, and if the previous ring watch is any indication, resellers should absolutely pay attention.

G-Shock Nano DW-5600

Back in December 2024, Casio dropped the CRW-001 ring watch as a 50th anniversary piece. The steel ring sold out faster than anyone expected, and resellers immediately jumped on it. Units that retailed for about $120 consistently sold for $350 to $400 on eBay, with some pushing past $500. That’s 3X retail on a regular basis.

The DWN-5600 takes everything that worked about the CRW-001 and improves it. Instead of just being G-SHOCK-shaped, this is an actual functioning G-SHOCK. It’s got shock resistance, 200-meter water resistance, and all the durability standards that made the brand legendary. The whole thing weighs just 6 grams but can handle what full-size G-SHOCKs survive.

The 6-digit LCD displays time down to the second, includes calendar, dual time, stopwatch, and LED backlight. The adjustable band (48-82mm) means it actually fits different finger sizes, unlike the CRW-001’s rigid steel that caused fit issues. Casio’s even encouraging people to attach it to water bottles, bags, or whatever else works.

Three colors drop: black, red, and yellow. These match the most popular DW-5600 colorways historically. Each one ships in collector-style packaging with a G-logo display stand, positioning this as a collectible piece rather than just a functional watch.

How to Buy Casio Nano DWN-5600

Japan drops November 8 at ¥14,300 (about $110). Europe’s confirmed for November at €99.90, but there’s a catch. You need to be a Casio ID member to buy it in Europe. That’s a free signup, but it creates an additional barrier that could limit supply.

US availability is listed as “expected to follow” without specific timing. No confirmed date, no confirmed retailers yet. Based on typical Casio release patterns, that could mean anywhere from a few weeks to a few months after the Japan launch.

If the DWN-5600 follows the CRW-001’s trajectory, we’re looking at 2-3X retail minimum. That’s $220 to $330 per unit based on the $110 retail price. Previous ring watch sold listings on eBay show consistent sales in the $350 to $400 range even months after the initial drop, proving sustained demand beyond initial hype.

50th casio Ring Watch for Sale

International shipping from Japan typically runs $20 to $40. Even with those costs factored in, the profit margins work if you can source on the November 8 drop.

The biggest risk is if Casio actually produced enough units this time. Their announcement acknowledges production couldn’t keep up with CRW-001 demand, but that doesn’t guarantee they’ll repeat limited quantities. They might’ve learned from last time.

You’re dealing with international purchases if sourcing from Japan. That means customs, shipping delays, and potential import fees depending on your location. Factor those into profit calculations. Watch condition matters more than typical flips since these are functional timepieces with batteries and moving parts.

The DWN-5600 is resin instead of steel, which might appeal to fewer collectors. That said, true G-SHOCK fans will probably prefer the resin version since it’s more authentic to the brand’s identity.

Keep in mind this is final sale on most international purchases. If demand doesn’t materialize like it did for the CRW-001, you’re holding inventory.
