Key Points

  • MLB teams hold promotional nights with exclusive giveaways

  • Some of these require special event tickets, others are open to all attendees

  • Reselling promo items can pay for the cost of your tickets with some profit left over

You read that right. The 2026 MLB season is almost here, and we’ve been taking a close look at all the published promotional schedules from across the league. The method is simple: attend a game, have a beer and a hot dog, receive your promotional bobblehead/jersey/hat, then flip it after the game. We’ve handpicked some of our favorite giveaways, so let’s get right into it.

Do MLB Promo Items Actually Resell?

Yes. Well, yes and no. Not every promo item will be popular enough to resell for a profit after a game.

There are three important factors that go into evaluating a potential flip: the team, the item, and the quantity. The team might actually be the most important, with promo items from teams like the Dodgers and the Yankees usually being the most popular. The item itself needs to be collectible; usually we see bobbleheads or promotional jerseys sell for the highest prices. Finally, quantity. Limited editions are where we make the most money. The less people that get one at the game means more eBay sales afterwards.

Want some real world examples? We’re glad to oblige. Last June, the Dodgers held a One Piece promo night for fans, with everyone in attendance receiving a themed Dodgers X Luffy card. After the game, these were flipping for around $300. Folks that held onto them into 2026 were able to resell them for up to $1,500.

Up to 40,000 of these were given away, and highly graded examples have sold for $15,000.

Before that, the Atlanta Braves gave away a limited number of OutKast crossover bobbleheads featuring Andre 3000 and Big Boi decked out in Braves uniforms.

These were a massive hit in the city, triggering huge lines before the gates opened and only 15,000 being given away. By the end of the day, they were listed on eBay for $200 or more.

When you get this special intersection of cultural collectors and sports fanatics, resellers are able to take incredible profits just by attending a baseball game.

There are two main types of giveaways: all fans and event tickets required. All fans is just what it sounds like; any ticketed fan in the stadium is eligible to receive the item, but these items may still be subject to quantity limits and are usually given out on a first-come, first serve basis.

Some giveaways require fans to purchase special event tickets. These must be acquired beforehand, at the same time you purchase your regular ticket. Popular special events usually sell out quickly, months in advance of the actual game. That’s why we’re publishing this guide in February, so fans and resellers can buy the tickets they want before they’re sold out.

Make sure you fully understand the giveaway before you purchase a ticket. For items released in limited quantities, get to the ballpark early to ensure you don’t miss your opportunity.

And finally, remember that there’s always an element of risk in reselling. Even if you’re confident that the item will resell, the market might not emerge, and there are no refunds for promotional items. Still, if your worst case scenario is attending a baseball game and having a hot dog, it can’t be all that bad.

That’s enough preamble. Let’s get right to the games. By the way, if you don’t see your team on here, they may not have announced their promo schedule yet, or we might have covered them in our previous article.

Arizona Diamondbacks 2026 Promos

The Diamondbacks are leaning hard into the 25th anniversary of their 2001 World Series title this season, and the headliner is a throwback jersey giveaway on September 19 against the New York Yankees. The first 25,000 fans through the gates will receive a replica of the gray road jerseys the 2001 championship team wore, and members of that squad are expected back at Chase Field for a pregame ceremony. Luis Gonzalez, who delivered the walk-off single in Game 7 against Mariano Rivera to win the championship, is expected among the returnees. That’s a lot of nostalgia stacked into one night.

Diamondbacks 2001 World Series Jersey Replica

Anniversary jerseys with a ceremony attached tend to do well on the secondary market, especially when they’re tied to a team’s only championship and feature a clean, recognizable design. The 2001 D-backs are one of the more beloved World Series champions of the last 25 years, so expect demand from fans who were there and collectors who weren’t but wish they had been. The first 25,000 quantity is solid enough to keep everyone from panicking, but not so large that the market gets flooded.

The other item worth flagging is the Corbin Carroll 30/30 Mystery Bobblehead on June 6, which celebrates Carroll’s 30 home run, 30 stolen base season. The “mystery” framing means the final design hasn’t been revealed yet, and that kind of anticipation tends to drive up ticket demand before anyone even sees what they’re getting. Carroll is one of the more marketable young players in the game right now, and his 30/30 campaign is the kind of milestone that makes for a genuinely interesting bobblehead. Once the design drops, this one is worth checking secondary ticket prices.

Chicago Cubs 2026 Promos

The Cubs’ 2026 promotional schedule has two items that stand out. The first is a Grogu bobblehead on May 4 versus the Cincinnati Reds, limited to the first 10,000 fans. IP collaborations with Star Wars properties have consistently performed well in the bobblehead market. Grogu specifically has become one of the most recognizable characters in the franchise since The Mandalorian debuted, and pairing him with the Cubs brand at Wrigley is the kind of crossover that appeals to multiple collector communities at once. The 10,000 unit cap is on the tighter side, which helps.

The second is a Wrigley Field Replica Ballpark model on June 7 versus the San Francisco Giants, also limited to the first 10,000 fans. Miniature stadium replicas are a slightly different category from bobbleheads. They tend to appeal more to serious collectors and architecture fans than casual attendees, but the demand ceiling on Wrigley specifically is high. It’s one of the most iconic ballparks in American sports, and a well-made replica of it has decorative value beyond the game itself.

Both items go to only 10,000 fans, which is a notably tight quantity. For context, most MLB giveaways run between 15,000 and 40,000 units. That scarcity matters.

San Diego Padres 2026 Promos

The Padres are doing Harry Potter Day on September 7 versus the Washington Nationals, and the promotion includes a Harry Potter themed bobblehead. The theme is “Joe Musgrove’s School of Pitchcraft,” and it’s exactly as good as that sounds. The item is a Harry Potter branded bobblehead tied to the Padres universe.

This is a Theme Game ticket package, not a free gate giveaway. You have to purchase a special ticket bundle through the Padres’ theme games page to receive the bobblehead, and it’s only available while supplies last. That’s actually fine for resellers because it means the total item count is controlled and the purchase is intentional rather than random early-arrival luck. Harry Potter IP promotions have solid secondary market history, and “Joe Musgrove’s School of Pitchcraft” is a creative enough execution that it should stand on its own as a collector’s item. Watch for the official item render to drop closer to the season.

Philadelphia Phillies 2026 Promos

The Phillies are doing a Colonial Phanatic bobblehead on April 12 versus the Arizona Diamondbacks to celebrate the Phanatic’s birthday. This one features the Phanatic dressed in colonial-era attire, tying into Philadelphia’s America 250 anniversary celebrations this year. The design sounds genuinely fun.

The critical detail: this giveaway is restricted to fans 14 and under only. Adults cannot receive this item at the gate regardless of when they arrive. That restriction creates an interesting dynamic for resellers because the effective supply is meaningfully lower than a full-attendance giveaway, but it also means you cannot simply buy a ticket and show up. You’ll need a child present or need to source this item entirely through secondary channels after the game. Phanatic bobbleheads have a strong resale history in Philadelphia, and the colonial variant themed to the city’s milestone anniversary is the kind of item that holds value with local collectors.

Seattle Mariners 2026 Promos

Seattle is starting with a historically strong promo schedule following a historically heartbreaking 2025 season. We’ve already covered sold-out tickets for their One Piece night on March 31, and now they’ve announced a special Cal Raleigh bobblehead giveaway for March 28. No images are available yet, but we’re hoping they take inspiration from this fan-made design:

The first 40,000 fans receive a bobblehead commemorating Raleigh’s record-breaking 60 home run season, which set the single-season record for catchers in MLB history.
The 40,000 unit quantity is unusually generous for a bobblehead and should keep prices from going too crazy, but the storyline behind it is genuinely historic. Raleigh joining the 60 home run club as a catcher is the kind of achievement that gets remembered, and the Mariners are also celebrating their 50th anniversary season and their first AL West title in years.

March 28 is going to be a packed house. If you’re planning to attend, arrive early. If you’re planning to flip, monitor secondary ticket prices now because Opening Weekend Mariners games have been hot this offseason.
