Key Points

  • Both Ember and Nebula retailed for $18 through an EQL raffle with a limit of two per customer per colorway

  • Early eBay sales range from $40 to $60 per guard, with some sellers listing them higher

  • The raffle closed after 24 hours and winners are currently receiving their guards

GradedGuard just ran another limited edition drop, and collectors are already flipping them for double retail. The company released two new colorways through an EQL raffle on Friday: Ember and Nebula. Both designs sold out during the 24-hour draw window, and early eBay sales are running between double and triple their retail value.

GradedGuard Limited Edition EQL Raffles

Are you familiar with GradedGuard? They’ve been gradually building hype around their limited edition slab guards over the past year. After watching Fruit Punch and Confetti variants flip for tidy profits back in June, the company switched to using EQL raffles for their drops. This levels the playing field and prevents bots from scooping up all the inventory in seconds.

The Ember and Nebula guards dropped Friday through a 24-hour EQL draw. Each customer was limited to two guards per colorway. Nebula sports a fuchsia and black design that’s been described as “striking and subtle”, while Ember features an orange and red gradient meant to evoke burning coals.

Graded Guard Limited Edition Ember Protector

Both guards retail for $18 each and are designed to fit PSA slabs. Like previous GradedGuard releases, these are protective cases that slide over graded cards to protect them from drops and impacts. The company has built a following in the card collecting community by releasing these guards in limited colorways that collectors use to match specific cards or build coordinated displays.

Sales data shows these guards are moving consistently on eBay in the $40 to $60 range. That’s roughly 2-3X retail before accounting for eBay’s 13% fees and shipping costs. Actual profit per guard is closer to $15 to $30 depending on what price you can get.

Not exactly life-changing money, but it’s worth noting these took about five minutes to enter the raffle. If you won two of each colorway and flipped them all at the higher end, you’re looking at around $120 in profit for minimal effort.

GradedGuard Ember Nebula for Sale

GradedGuard’s previous Fruit Punch and Confetti drops maintained similar pricing months after release, with lot sales of four guards consistently hitting $150 to $200. Those older colorways are still selling today, which suggests there’s sustained collector demand rather than just initial hype.

Card collectors are a unique breed. Limited edition guards in eye-catching colors become part of the presentation, especially when paired with high-value graded cards.

GradedGuard has tapped into this by releasing guards in small quantities with names like Confetti, Sunset, Rainbow, and now Ember and Nebula. Each colorway sells out, maintains value on the secondary market, and creates anticipation for the next drop. It’s the same playbook as limited edition sneakers, just applied to card accessories.

The Bottom Line

Ember and Nebula are flipping for solid profits right now, but this is a volume game. You’re not making rent money off two guards. The appeal is in the low time investment and consistent demand. If you’re already into card flipping or can set reminders for GradedGuard drops, this is worth adding to your rotation.

Keep an eye on their Instagram and sign up for their email list to catch future drops. Based on past releases, we’ll probably see another limited edition in a month or two. Just remember these are final sale, so factor that risk into your pricing strategy.
