Lucky PSA subscribers received a gold variants of April’s TCG magazine
There are already two sales for $1,000 and $15,000
Several more have been listed for $10,000
Earlier this month, subscribers to PSA’s TCG and Pop Culture magazine had a chance to make thousands of dollars from a trip to the mailbox. A limited number of gold “chase” variants of their April Mewtwo covers were shipped to PSA members, and they’ve begun to reappear on eBay. Most sellers are asking upwards of $1,000 for their magazine, and a handful have already sold for that much or even more. Let’s get started.
Maybe this is how you find out, but PSA has a magazine. Members of PSA’s Collector’s Club can sign up to receive either a Sports or TCG/Pop Culture magazine each month with their subscription.
These usually cover notable developments in the respective hobby, along with stories from PSA members and card collectors. Aside from the writing, PSA also regularly distributes collectable cards or variant covers to subscribers.
For April, the PSA TCG/Pop Culture magazine featured Mewtwo on the cover. A limited number of gold variant covers were also printed and sent to lucky readers.
And when we say “limited,” we mean “really damn limited.” Just 25 Gold Mewtwo PSA magazines were produced, making these incredible rare and highly collectable.
It didn’t take long before we started seeing these listed for sale on eBay. As of this publication, at least three PSA members are trying to sell their Gold Mewtwo magazines, all of which are asking around $10,000.
It’ll be interesting to see how these auctions go. If you’re interested in receiving future PSA magazines, you’ll need to purchase an annual Collector’s Club membership for $150 or $200. Aside from the magazine, you’ll also receive discounted grading and promotional credit on Fanatics Live.
We’re not done just yet. We mentioned that three members are currently attempting to sell their magazines on eBay, but a few have already sold.
As of this publication, we can see two confirmed sales on eBay for PSA Gold Mewtwo magazines. The sales were for $1,000 and an almost unbelievable $15,000 respectively.
We’re guessing that $15K sale got the attention of other magazine owners and has spurred on the recent listings at $10,000.
Good luck to anyone lucky enough to have received one of these magazines. If you’re a PSA Collector’s Club member, it’s time to go check your mailbox and see if one of these rare covers is waiting for you.
