Here's an opportunity for Empyrean fans
MrBeast’s latest video has racked up almost 100 million views
As part of his partnership with Shopify, collectibles from the set were sold for $0.01
Now, these MrBeast collectibles are reselling for $50 to $150
Everybody loves MrBeast right? His videos regularly rack up millions of views and frequently become social media trends on release. MrBeast’s latest video, “Ages 1 – 100 Fight For $500,000” is sitting at just under 100 million views as of this writing, six days after its release. Afterwards, there would be a special opportunity for MrBeast fans: the chance to buy an actual piece of the set for just one cent. After all the available collectibles sold out, they’ve begun to resell on eBay, often for hundreds of dollars.
Whether you love him or think he’s the devil incarnate, you have to acknowledge MrBeast is a big deal. He’s clearly figured out how get attention on YouTube, and is riding it for what it’s worth. Whether it’s the obnoxious thumbnails, obnoxious facial hair, or obnoxious voice, people just can’t get enough of his content.
On May 27, MrBeast put out the video “Ages 1 – 100 Fight For $500,000“. As you might surmise from the name, 100 people are locked in glass cages and must compete with each other for half a million in cash. And yes, there really are toddlers and a centenarian in the running.
The video is (obviously) extremely popular and achieved an incredible amount of views in under a week. To capitalize on this attention, the description of the video included a link to buy an actual piece of the set. The collectibles for sale were either a Jenga piece or small patch of turf, all of which came from one of the contestants’ rooms.
Unfortunately, all of the collectibles have sold out. The MrBeast Set Collectibles were sold exclusively through the Shop app as part of his partnership with Shopify. They cost just one cent, but incurred a $10 shipping fee.
It’s not clear how many of the MrBeast Set Collectibles were sold. Considering that there were 100 contestants, that makes for quite a few Jenga pieces and turf patches. It’s likely that the total number of MrBeast Set Collectibles produced was somewhere between 200 and 1,500, depending on how many pieces they took from each contestant.
Within a few days of the video’s release and sale of collectibles, people began posting them for sale. Initial sales for confirmed orders were around $100 per collectible. Remember, these cost just one cent from MrBeast’s Shop.
There have been a few sales over $200, but prices have overall trended towards the $75 mark. At any price, reselling a MrBeast Set Collectible is pretty respectable profit, considering you could buy these on your phone for very little upfront cost.
