Stanley’s “Wicked” collaboration is a huge success
The $55 tumblers sold out online and in stores over the weekend
Resellers are flipping them en masse for up to $120
Over the weekend, Stanley launched their highly awaited “Wicked” collaboration exclusively at Target. Two new tumbler designs went live online and in stores, and the resulting frenzy truly impressive. It’s been a bit since we’ve seen people so excited for a new Stanley release, and resellers have been treated to an absolute feast. These tumblers are now flipping for solid profits on a considerable scale.
If you’re not a regular reader (shame!), you might have missed our article on Stanley’s recent “Wicked” collaboration. You can read that here, but here’s the TL;DR:
On Sunday, Stanley dropped two new tumblers via Target. They were based on the main characters Elphaba and Glinda, and retailed for either $55 or $35 depending on the size. You could only buy them from Target stores on October 13, and starting at midnight through the app.
Pretty standard fare, although each tumbler had some subtle details that would appeal to Wicked fans. In any case, the drop has been a massive success for everyone involved.
Within hours of the collection’s release, we’ve seen images of sold out shelves, crowds mobbing Target stores, and at least a few dorks grabbing tumblers out of other customers’ hands. It seems like Black Friday came early, or at least the worst parts of it.

But you can probably see where we’re going with this. If people are getting into slapfights over the newest sippy cups, just imagine what they’re willing to pay a reseller for one.
In a shocking twist, not only have these tumblers sold out at retail, but they’ve very quickly begun to appear on eBay. It’s still pretty early, but we can say with confidence that these are a great flip.
Right now, “Wicked” Stanley tumblers are regularly reselling for around $80. While both designs are flipping, the green Elphaba Stanley tumblers are much more popular and flipping for up to $120 at a time.
Conversely, pink Glinda Stanley tumblers are going for a bit lower, sometimes only $60 or $70. That’s still popular, but a bit disappointing for resellers that specifically went after them.
Bundled sales are quite profitable though, with some resellers scoring upwards of $200 at a time when selling both “Wicked” Stanley tumblers. If you were fast enough to buy multiple tumblers at Target, this drop was a ticket to easy money.
Did you miss out? We tipped our readers off to this flip on Saturday. By shopping on Target’s app or heading directly to a store when they opened, anyone could have purchased one of these tumblers at retail and make quick profit with minimal effort.
