Topps is raffling a single VeeFriends Sapphire box
Only 650 were made and they retailed for $1,555
Resellers have flipped them for $8,000
If you’re looking to profit from the NFT boom without actually buying an NFT, check out this upcoming drop from Topps and Gary Vaynerchuk. A (very) limited drawing will be held for the first ever Sapphire VeeFriends series. These are extremely rare, with sealed boxes reselling for more than $6,000 over their retail price. The odds are long but it’s free to enter, and one lucky winner will be walking away with something very valuable when this drawing ends.
First, a little backstory. Back in 2022, internet entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk brought his popular series of VeeFriends NFTs into the real world with a series of trading cards. These were mostly bought and sold among existing VeeFriends owners and continue to hold their value today.
Earlier this year, Gary Vee partnered with Topps for an official Chrome VeeFriends series. You can read our full coverage of the drop here, but the TL;DR is that these were a very lucrative flip that regularly resells for three times their retail value.
And that partnership expanded once again with an ultra-exclusive Topps VeeFriends Sapphire series. Just 650 boxes were produced in total, with 32 cars included out of 100 base card set.
Collectors were able to hunt for rare Orange and Red Sapphire variants of their favorite cards, along with 1/1 Padparadscha cards.
Topps Chrome VeeFriends Sapphire boxes are valued at a $1,555 retail price. Of the 650 boxes made, 555 were earmarked for Gift Goat NFT holders. The remaining 95 have been dropped in extremely limited numbers through various venues or presented as a prize during giveaways.
During this weekend’s National Sports Collectors Convention in Rosemont, Illinois, fifteen boxes were individually raffled to attendees through three separate daily raffles.
Now, EQL is holding a final RunFair raffle for a single Topps VeeFriends Sapphire box. Unlike the previous raffles, this is a global entry. It opened on Friday, and it’s set to close in just a few hours.
Fortunately, it’s very easy to enter an EQL raffle. There is no entry fee, and you will only be expected to pay if you win.
To enter the raffle for this Topps VeeFriends Sapphire box, head to the EQL RunFair website and make an account. You’ll need to provide some basic information, and then add your entry to the raffle. This box is being offered for $1,555 which will need to be paid by the winner.
Remember, only one box is being offered. This is essentially a lottery ticket, although there’s no cost to enter and the odds are (a little) better. Still, this is an opportunity every reseller should be jumping on.
Why? Because these boxes are worth a ridiculous amount of money. Like we said, just 650 boxes were produced with the majority of them directly distributed to existing NFT holders. Out of the handful of sealed boxes we’ve seen sold, it’s clear this is an extremely lucrative collection.
On average, Topps Chrome VeeFriends Sapphire boxes resell for around $8,000. While selling the sealed boxes is ideal, individual cards flip for $200 to $400, while Padparadscha parallels have sold for thousands.
Don’t sit this out. The EQL raffle closes at 2 PM PDT, so consider this the last call for your entry. Yes, the odds are long and the potential price is high, but winning this box is basically having $6,000 dropped into your lap.
